Thanks for info and feedback. Honestly I haven't really tested or worried too much about the network failing so it's not been coded as robustly as it could in this regard. I've been using my own software for recording since October 2019 and never had the network fail so its not been something...
That looks like a network failure and it no longer was getting any data from the tuner. I will look at handling the error better as it seems to have crashed out.
Great to hear all is working well.
It should be possible to easily get recordings to go into separate folders, but how do you identify a movie as opposed to a program? Is it simply enough to use the Freeview EPG Movie category? I will also look at the option of adding events so the software...
@sceptic Glad you are up and running okay. I will take a look at the error as it shouldn't have stopped tuning because one channel/frequency had no video data found. The problem with scanning all frequencies is then dealing with duplicates where someone can receive a signal from more than one...
Version 1.0.5 is now up for anyone who wants it. Please follow the usual process to take a backup of the database, however upgrading from this new version to the other versions the database is automatically transferred and kept, so it is much easier to upgrade.
This version has the following...
Excellent news to hear you are now set up and running.
The m2ts format was a request from someone as the files were, I think from memory, being processed later in something else which only wanted m2ts files. It's only a container change, the video and audio is exactly the same in both, so...
After around 10 or 15 minutes there are no changes to the guide so it just keeps seeing the same data, and the guide isn't usually updated frequently enough to need to keep things running constantly.
I've written the software on the basis that other applications (Android TV boxes etc) may...
Yes should favour one tuner. I think perhaps it might be better if the padding was dropped in the middle like the Humax does, or maybe the option to use two tuners so that both recordings are padded, as the problem with dropping the padding in the middle is if someone comes along and watches...
That appears to have been what has happened then, they changed the scheduled episode or the Program CRID within an hour of the last Guide update, or did it sometime after even. Not sure why they would do that. I will have a think how I can handle those situations better, maybe having the guide...
There should be no issues with back to back recordings. Are both episodes contained in the 19:00 recording by any chance?
There is no start or stop signal as such. What they use is the Present and Future (Now and Next) data, this is updated in near real time to show what is on Now and what is...
Thanks for the suggestions, and I'll see what I can do :)
I've looked at supporting other tuners and many use BDA drivers and it's a huge chunk of complex work, too much for something given away for free anyway, plus the other issue is I would have to buy the various tuners to test against...
Working on a few updates:
Support for multiple HDHomeRun tuners on the same network with the option to set a preferred device, and so with 2 Quatro tuners you can then utilise both and record up to 8 programs simultaneously!
Better handling of series linked recordings that have come to an end...
@mike_m You can let FireFox off this time :-) I've found a bug in the JavaScript that tripped up FireFox but other browsers sort of ignored, so will be fixed in the next update.
Think this has happened before. Try a different browser and tune the channels, there seems to be an issue with Firefox and the channel setting doesn't take place on confirming. Once tuned FireFox will work fine, I'll take a look at the issue and fix it in Firefox.
Fingers crossed that solves it.
Hi @Mik
Do you see the list of channels in the guide but just no programs? If yes, go to settings and on the frequency to use for loading the guide pick one from the list, it might be defaulting to one that you can't receive. Once you have picked a frequency from the list then try Refresh...
@mike, welcome on board. I should be on commission with Silicondust :) The frequency to use for the guide data should default to one of the HD Muxes, but the option is available to change to a different frequency, for example if you are on the margins of reception and can't get the HD muxes...
