Wow that was scary!
I set the immutable flag on the .autodetectads flag file and deleted the folder from the SUI. The folder disappeared and the "* Deleting" was constantly showing on the SUI. Tried to shutdown the box to no avail so rebooted from the GUI but not sure if that worked as "*...
Sorry to say it didn't work. I made the .series and .autodetectads files read only and deleted the folder from the SUI. The folder, recordings and .autodetectads flag file ended up in [Deleted Items].
That's not what I was after as SWMBO only deletes the folder after watching all the recordings. I just need to prevent folder and flags being deleted so I'll implement Black Hole's suggestion. Thanks.
Is it possible to have a folder lock facility on the WebIf OPT+ menu but still allow recordings in the folder to be deleted. SWMBO has a habit of deleting the folder as a means of deleting multiple files and with it go my C.F. package flags!
It's not to record TV, it's to keep the box awake long enough to perform queue processing and rsync backups to my NAS. It's all automated and requires no maintenance. The dummy recordings are named as such and Sweeper deletes all recordings with 'dummy recording' in the filename.
Using recordings in Chaserun mode instead of Reminders
Following MymsMan's advice in post #16 I'm now using a Chaserun mode recording instead of a reminder to keep my box awake while backing up my recordings with rsync. I used to set up a 5 hour overnight reminder to coincide with the rsync...
It's the first one I've had since enabling the WebIf Auto-decrypt in March. Prior to this I used the one from Package Management and never had any rogue leftover files. SWMBO switched the box on and started to play the recording almost immediately. It was the first time the box had come out...
This was from a BBC2 recording so was not being decrypted by DetectAds. May have started to play recording while standard decryption was in progress.
Tried this but deletes every recording except the one I want to delete! Good job I used Sweeper test mode.

I've noticed rsync backing up a rogue .encrypted file. As it doesn't appear in the WebIf browser I've tried a Sweeper rule to delete it but this fails. I assume this is because it's a file extension and Sweeper only examines the filename. Is it possible to have a Sweeper condition 'extension...
After installing the undelete package I couldn't get rsync backups to ignore the [Deleted Items] folder by using the example in post #6. For anyone who may have this problem, this is what worked ... --exclude='\[Deleted Items\]'
I do use these timers. My post was to find an alternative if I forget to set the timers before I leave home. I've realised that whichever method I use to keep the box awake I may still have a problem with overlapping recordings. I'll just have to keep a check on the scheduled recordings and...
To stream my recordings when I'm away from home I set up Timer On/Off times. If I forget, then setting a reminder can work if there is no clash with overlapping recordings. If there is a clash then I could end up with a failed recording if the two recordings and the reminder channel are on...
I used this method at first but got an obscure path to my recordings i.e.
/media/My Video/_Decrypted/media/My Video/folder name/filename. af123 then produced an update incorporating %bfolder token. This correctly placed folders in /media/My Video/_Decrypted but recordings from media root are...
This should probably be in a seperate thread but posting here for continuity with my last post.
My rule type "Process Folders" for copying decrypted files to _Decrypted has an age setting of <36 hours. There was only one recording in a folder that matched the rule but all the recordings in the...
