Preparing for my HDR to eventually die
I have a Synology NAS too. Kodi/XBMC on my PC plays very nicely with it. DLNA or SMB. My PC takes 28 seconds from power on to get to operational Media Centre. (No MS-windows involved - it's running Openelec an optimised version of Linux/Xbmc). By contrast my Humax Fox HDR T2 takes 18 seconds...- briang

There are many reasonably priced devices that do what you want. Android Set-Top Boxes are the ones that spring to mind. don't discount PCs, as they're getting increasingly affordable. XBMC - soon to be rebranded to Kodi would be worth looking at as a fun/flexible way of presenting media. You'd...- briang

Why not install the customised firmware and use Mediatomb on the Fox HDR T2 - even if just for audio? You can still stream video, from the Humax service, if that's your preference. More fun. I've run Media Monkey against the same servers, and got the same results as XBMC, LG, Foobar 2k. This client helpfully displays values for Path filename, and track number. Unsuprisingly the track number is missing. The client plays them in the order of file in the path. For...- briang

As I do all my DLNA from my Synology NAS I haven't really exercised my HDR T2 in this area For clients I have an LG Blu-Ray player, and a Pure radio, plus a couple of windows 7 apps. So he is. Sorry for taking this off-piste I should have looked closer. I agree with what he sees on the native Humax dlna server though.Track 1,7,6, 10,11,9,2,3,5,8,4. I think it's probably server-side determined.- briang

Actually I think it's a server-side issue. The same album on my Synology NAS that's in the correct order, is in the wrong order in mediatomb, on the Humax. I'm using the same XBMC client. This seems to correlate with the view of the original poster. I have loads of music served off my NAS...- briang

So it has cron entry gone. Pretty unpadlock icon against My Videos. Hopefully this will eliminate the partial recordings. I shall monitor. An observation. I'm actually unsure how I set up decrypting, I just followed a secret-sauce recipe on here 2-3 years ago. There's nothing obvious to me in packages. I have unencrypt - 0.1.4 & auto-unprotect - 1.0.9 - Utility for automatically unprotecting HD files when they are recorded. Any pointers, would...- briang

Redring.logging not fixed. I scheduled a recording, which has completed. ls -la /mod/tmp/redring.log -rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 0 Nov 2 16:37 /mod/tmp/redring.log Thanks for the help btw. I thought the old Topfield community was good. This place is outstanding.- briang
