It's extremely rare that my recordings are affected by programs running late. I would say less than 1% - a lot less than the 12.5% failure rate I experienced with AR last week.
I thought the entire premise with Accurate Recording was that the broadcaster sends a signal exactly when the program starts and stops. If this signal can be several seconds late/early you can miss crucial parts of the recording, which in my view invalidates the entire concept. And if the...
I don't understand how broadcast bitrate is relevant to AR? If AR often cuts a program recording short (by starting late or stopping early) that is of no use to me and I would have to use padding instead. I realize that I would miss out on delayed broadcasts but it seems that the risk of that is...
Sorry for not being clear. The Last Kingdom started "on time" in terms of the beginning of the program. What I meant was that two programs were scheduled for 21:00 so this could have been an explanation for one program starting recording 4s late in relation to the broadcast. But the Channel 4 HD...
This is what I have so far:
Date/time Channel Title Start Stop # EPG Blocks Synopsis
--------------------- ------------ ---------------------------------- ---------------- -------------------------------...
Thanks, that's very helpful. I've scheduled the following for AR on my FOXSAT-HDR, across all the HD channels I've tuned, only two of them overlap, all series recording, except for Click.
Date/time Channel Title
--------------------- ------------...
Work in progress but this is what I'm trying to develop: My script makes a "join" between scheduled events and the EPG database and keeps title+synopsis plus various keys in a backup (either one/more file(s) or a database). Then another script checks all .hmt files and for those with only one...
Thanks, but I need a program that runs without manual intervention on the box itself, this would be scripted to run upon startup like convertfiles, Newk etc.
Perhaps I should try to convince adrianf36 to extend hmt with a "+setsynopsis" command line parameter :-).
Thanks, not great news. I guess I have to develop a tool that backs up the synopsis from the scheduled recordings and patches that into the .hmt file when it's incorrect there.
Seen that the FOXSAT-HDR's hmt command doesn't support changing the synopsis (the HDR-FOX T2's version does) which...
I tried AR on the Foxsat-HDR with a few recordings and they all started late (some 5-10s, others a lot more) so that's not an option for me. It seems that AR works a lot better on the HDR-FOX T2, which has also become a better at keeping the system clock after a factory default - not perfect...
I have a timed power on/off set every day 16:00-17:45 on BBC1 HD on my HDR-FOX T2 and I'm afraid it doesn't resynch the clock. The box has been running for 2 days at this point and the time is already 34s ahead. I couldn't get the ntpclient to work either. I'm running CF 3.03.
So I have to...
I wouldn't expect it to do any meaningful with manual recordings, only for single events and series recordings.
I'll keep an eye on upcoming recorded series linked episodes of "Great Continental Railway Journeys" on BBC2 HD. There might be EPG/recording issues with this because they're...
Thanks for your help. What I've learnt from this is that there can be multiple synopsises within an .hmt file and I've also learnt about the file structure of the .hmt file.
I've recorded a program now with two synopsises and hmt -p shows the correct one (the second). As always, it's difficult...
