18 years.
As previously stated, I wish to continue to use the 10.0.0.x IP address range for my network.
Apparently, BT uses this range for FON.
So a BT Home Hub is not suitable for me...
Mine has the following under
Home Network > Devices > Raspberry-Pi
Physical Address: x8:27:xx:x7:50:71
IP Address Assignment: Static
IP Address: 10.0.0.17
There is no button to change these settings, so I assume it gets the data from the device.
Yes, I turned off DHCP and assigned static IP addresses in the 10.0.0.x range.
Here is a list of my devices, taken from my router Local Network Devices table:-
DesktopBlackBox 10.0.0.4 Ethernet Interface
TiVo-2 10.0.0.12 Ethernet Interface
Humax-Recorder...
I prefer to leave well alone as regards my router.
I suspect it would hand out 192.x.x.x IP addresses which I don't want.
Last night, I put in the usual static IP address as well as the gateway IP address and connected to restore my schedule backup.
Oddly, this morning, these IP addresses...
I have just seen my first (that I can remember) post crash installation wizard.
As luck would have it, it didn't finish until it had past the start of a recording, which I had to start recording by tuning to the channel and hit the red remote button.
The networking is a faff, as it seems to...
Well, thank you all for your replies on this EPG data subject, which is a complete revelation to me.
It explains why the updated table looks like this.

It has been confirmed that Sky's Pick channel has gone HD for the football.
It will show 25 Premier League matches live free to air.
The HD channel numbers are:-
Sky 159
Freesat 147

Why Not?
It gets me the answers I need. 🙂 :o_O:
And to remove all doubt, my follow-up question is...
When people say the file contains the EPG data,
are they referring to the entire 8 days worth of all channels
(which seems preposterous even to me)?
Or just the data about the specific...
I understand all these words individually, but not necessarily in this order...
You're saying that EPG data is embedded in each recording's file?
What would be the process to strip this data out?
If you are referring to the two Fred Astaire - Ginger Rogers films, I have not yet played them.
I did watch Porridge, which I'm fairly certain was 4:3, and as we can see, took up more GB/min than the film Jimi: All Is by My Side on the same channel.
For my own amusement/satisfaction, I pasted the values from the Web-If Media Details box for various recordings into Excel.
Quite surprised to see the variation between similar recordings on the same channel broadcast at the same time of day.

Thanks for that.
Not really surprised FreeView is not agile enough to accommodate a new HD channel.
Looks like it's time for the biennial powering up of my Sky box.
Pick TV is showing 25 Premiership football matches live, starting with Norwich City v Southampton on Friday 19th June 2020 at 18:00.
It states on their Wikipedia page that
" it will be available in HD from 17 June 2020.[citation needed] ".
This is the only reference I can find about possible...
I have created a dark style for Web-If which has a black background and light grey text.
If it's not to your taste, be feel free not to share this opinion.
However, you can obviously edit this file to create a style that is to your taste. 🙂
I welcome all comments on the code.
