Replace HDD or get a new machine?
Indeed, "weird" design was definitely in the minds of the Humax team when they came up with that thing :) And I'm also now intrigued about this wall-wart problem - why is it Owen Smith that you aren't keen on one, given that you are OK with an external supply + lead? (As BH says, extension lead...)- neilski

Insufficient disk space ... for what?
Updates... Firstly, I have now verified that recording from part of the TSR buffer does indeed cause it to be deleted, which triggers this buglet. Secondly, I'm proposing this tiny tweak which seems to fix the problem on my HDR box and probably works on HD boxes too (btw, is there a better place...- neilski

Insufficient disk space ... for what?
Howdy... Am resurrecting this elderly thread because it has a lot of the relevant info in it. I have occasionally been seeing "free" disk space in Webif which is precisely 20GB bigger than I expected (and than the TV shows). I've traced this to system.class and diskspace.jim. I suspect there's a...- neilski

Update: I've played around with strace and I was able to get it to work for the media browser script on my machine. It just *might* help to work out what's going on with your machine, hy4boy... Soooo, if you get bored enough ;), try this: cd /mod/webif/html/browse/ strace -tt -T -o /tmp/st.out...- neilski

+1 to your first two sugggestions (I have the package notes open in a tab beside the packages web page :)). Haven't tried sweeper yet (sounds nice) or I'd probably agree with that one too :thumbsup:- neilski

OK: the df and df -i output both look very like mine - nothing amiss there that I can see. (You have a 2TB disk - you upgraded it yourself I guess?) The top output: the text formatting isn't like what I get from top on my system, which is weird. (Can you tell me what version number you get when...- neilski

Agreed, it goes without saying that af123 would have to be on board. And that's weird about the wiki reporting 44 when it's listing 62 "content" pages...- neilski

OK, that's all precisely what I get on my box, so nothing amiss there (the last one fails simply because it's a relative symbolic link - i.e. it's a path relative to the location of the link itself, hence it points at /mod/webif/html/img/fav/favicon.ico). Might not be such a massive task. The wiki statistics say it only has 44 pages of actual content, of which I'm sure some are now irrelevant for one reason or another. Maybe links to a mere dozen or so pages would be enough... But yes, best way would be for people to provide patches of some kind...- neilski

Aha! :) OK, sorted it. (Though I did stretch the guidance a bit - I felt the code block formatting wasted a lot of space so because I didn't have much to reformat (thus no need for scroll bars) I just switched font to Courier. Shame the editor doesn't have a button for code blocks btw.)- neilski

Well, I reckon the highlighted line isn't an issue - that's how symbolic links are meant to look. As for the missing file, I have to warn you I'm a total noob to the custom firmware, but it's just possible that you might be on to something there. My box does have a favicon.ico at that path, and...- neilski
