  Hi,It was DHCP in the router. Don't think my router supports your suggestion, Only option is 3 different ranges of address's. In the interim I'll wait to see if anyone can help set up the xmbc server. I'd prefer not to use it as there a few niggles with it .locking up . I was using serviio...

  Over the week end I have been experimanting to find why my xp network keeps losing the humax, the humax ip address is contant at 192.168.1.65 my pc is XXX.XXX.X.64 tried fixing my pc manually at this address. no go! My wifi router has 3 variable ranges , It is currently on 192.168.1.64...

  I now have XMBC configured as per instructions "Thanks" It would be great if I could get the Humax to see my pc media files . With XMBC running , I get network not found message on TV via humax. It would be interesting to know why my network keeps losing the humax in per my last post 158 crikey...

  Ok thanks I'll re install XMBC and try as suggested. latest update with whats happening or not , Seem that in the case of both XP laptop and desktop , when I first add the humax as a network device it works, but after a reboot the network icons are still there but won't play even from run\\address

  I have downloaded and installed vlc 2.1 . can't find 2.0. Not sure how to set up to run within vlc but I tried setting the network stream to humax address in my case http://192.168.1.65/ And still won't play in the humax program. Tried XMBC in the interim "pevious post" I can play some...

  Hi , I 've just noticed that my notepad "XP" can access the humax box and has the expected humax icons in network places, I can't play anything probably because I don't have vlc on it. But it gives me a comparison tool. Not tried the last suggestion yet but I'll try it and a few other ideas...

  I have done as per the last information , I have chosen a sd file at random .with green icon ! decrypted to get the dec icon. When I double click to play the file. As before lots of hd activity vlc icon comes up but nothing happens
