I take the box away in a caravan to watch pre-recorded progs.
Up to now we have always had a mains supply but I am exploring the possibilities of managing several days without 240v power.
I guess I could use an invertor for the STB but I wonder if one could modify the box to by pass the PSU...
Just to wrap this thread up.
Two LNB that I have had for a few years exhibited the effect described at the outset.
I bought a new LNB and everything is perfect.
I use the customised software and set some German 19.2 channels to be freesat so they appear on the epg.
I manually set a recording and check that it is on the schedule but they don't happen
The HDR is programmed to switch on between 16:00 & 17:00 each day., the channel happens to be 107 BBC4...
It seems that a fair amount of effort is required to achieve my objective (file transfer between Freeview HDR & Foxsat HDR) and is probably not worthwhile.

Yes I know the Foxsat only encrypts HD recordings.
I have two machines and I transfer recordings between them but HD transfers do not work.
I'm thinking of buying a Freeview HDR and I'm asking can I transfer recording made by this to the Foxsats.?
At present I'm a Humax FoxSat HDR user but am considering buying also a Freeview Humax HDR.
Can recordings (lets say SD only) be exchanged between Sat & terrestial machines via a external USB drive?

The problem seemed to appear after I added a separate 2ft dish for 28°, I found is too fiddly to try to align 13°, 19° and 28° on a multi bracket.
Overload has been...
Foxsat HDR.
Signal 90% Quality 100%. no precipitation.
Breakup on picture then signal and quality bars read 0% and stay there. The picture continues to be OK.
Two HDR suffer the same effect.
What could cause this effect?
How does a fault on one of 4 cables connected to a quad LNB affect the...

Firmware v.4.1.2
I'm trying to enable remote recording events.
I tried to alter the package set up but the action box is displayed but the options are missing.
Any help gratefully received.
