There is a better table on another thread that lists pros and cons. I think if you schedule / browse the epg via the custom...

  It would be a failure of beta testing if that was the case. I'm always intrigued as to how many people they use and in my career you usually got yes guys for that so it didn't get tested well. Not that I had an angle that I would charge.

  I suspect so. More stuff to move about... Drag in and out of memory so that's a variable. One for af123. I do tend to use the custom software for putting events in, but will use the EPG if I know the programme is on at a specific day or time. But generally not browse with it.

  Hmmm I expect the argument goes this is a feature of the Free view PVR spec so you have to put your own work arounds in as you covered there and they aren't waking the box up themselves for better EPG refresh except to correct a design issue which is a flawed for the reasons given.

  Thanks. My understanding from what Barry said was that they had sorted out the issue where if you go on holiday for two weeks it misses a serial record since the EPG was never refreshed. You will be saying when it powers up on the serial record it will make the refresh now. I had assumed they...
