I'm trying to complie some new bits directly on the box (small apps so hopefully won't take too long!) but automake seems to be inserting random thinks into the Makefile. Randon two leter blocks followed by an @ symbole (e.g. KK@ LL@) I'm using --build=mips-uknonw-linux-gnu with configure has...- James

Sorry for being away for a few days. A few points for those having problems with the HD version. 1) You obviously need an external hard drive connected. I have tried using a USB hub to connect both a hard drive and a USB stick - neither worked, but the hub powered up via the USB power. - This...- James

Were working on it at the moment, there are some major file system diferences between the two boxes which we were not aware of initially. It now seems to be working, and i'm going to do some more testing tonight - please bare with us - hopefully will be ready over the weekend.- James

Excelent work, however the ultimate goal, which others are working on is to keep them on the box, and allow them to be viewed via a media server. I wonder what happens if we move the files out of the recording directory to another file system (to decrypt them) and then copy them back to the...- James

4 February 2011 - Still No Portal for the HD
Now we're at the end of the next month - with still no word what so ever - I (along with others) have been doing some investigating into the problems that seem to be going on. New Portal items been added
This is not the acutal portal you get on your box - nobody is exactley sure what it is or why it is there, however is is believed to be some sort of testing system used by humax - it is not a 'live' version- James

The 'big' mod I want to get working on as soon as I can open up the HD-FOXT2 is to get the portal system to browse to other web sites (media servers etc) - I'm sure it can't be to dificult to redirect the portal startup page to another one on the hard drive and then have this link to either the...- James

The legalities of the situation are going to be different in what ever country you are based in. Observing a situation and then writing your OWN code to do the same thing is not illegal (in UK or US) - this is a prime example of how Samba designed their software by observing what windows NT...- James

Yes it does (at least the HD-FOX T2) have a set of pins with UART0 on the board next to it. Not sure what the pin outs are, but im sure if you remove the cover, get the make/model of the chip the pins are connected to, then google it and work out which pin outs on the chips the ports pins are...- James
