Tuning with the 5000T should not be a problem, my 5000T which is almost 4 years old has never had an issue with tuning.
I tend to use manual tuning for best results so I know the box is getting the strongest signal from a certain transmitter
and not picking up weaker signals from another...

You can then drag and drop the recordings onto your mac preferably in a folder suitably named.
Not sure about being able to play the files on the mac have never tried.
I do know that the HD files will not play...

If you are only watching one channel then only one tuner is needed.
If you are watching one channel and recording another channel broadcast on a different multiplex two tuners will be used.
For example recording BBC1 HD at 1pm for example while watching ITV3 at the same time you will see two...
My Aura just updated to the latest software dated 12th April 2021, once installed there is a four page 'what's new'.
Unfortunately this new update does not prevent you from getting Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares shoved down your throat.
Oh yeah I know, I was just keen to watch The Terror that is all, was watching Endeavour for the umpteenth time when The Terror was on.
I have both Humaxs' recording the same things anyway just in case the new kid in town decides to get all stroppy.
Yes their inference is that when Tuner 1 is in operation then in my case the strength is 40%, if Tuner 2 gets used then that signal will drop to 20% on both and if three comes on then all three will be down to approx 13%,
which of course is of no earthly use to anyone. My 5000T does not do this...
Yes I thought their response was full of holes, if they have upped the sensitivity of the tuners in the Aura then why am I getting only 40% Strength, not cranked them up enough.
I can't believe the signal gets split in the three tuners, the 5000T does not do that I can have all three tuners...
Yes I thought it was a very poor reply, I give them evidence of other devices, one another Humax product which receives a 70% Signal strength
and yet it is down to me.
If they have upped the sensitivity of the tuners then why am I only getting about 40% Strength on the Aura.
Drop outs occur on...
I wrote an e-mail to Humax this morning and received a reply very quickly.
apparently it is my fault, of course it must be.
Here is what they said.
"Your TV has 1 tuner in it, so that one tuner gets 100% off the signal. The Aura has 3 tuners in it, so they are only getting a third of the...
Are the Tuners in the Aura less sensitive than the ones in the 500OT. Had the Aura for one week now and is prone to video and audio drop outs, looking at the signal monitor
it is about 40% strength and 95-100% quality. The TV it is connected to is getting through the RC loop 75% Strength and...

Hi I know I have read your post, but it does imply that Fat32 is for the USB 3.0 port so was wondering if the USB 2.0 port would be different.
I downloaded the manual and there is no reference to supported USB formats.
The Ext3 I would assume has fewer users than if Humax offered their USB ports...
Oh for goodness sake both USBs are at the back of the unit, who's dumb idea was that.
The manual does not say what USB formats are accepted by the USB ports.
surely it cannot just be FAT 32 with its 4GB limitations in the world of UHD.
Are you using an FVP-5000T.

select DEFAULT for complete...
Yes I agree if your doing an Automatic ReTune selecting Smart usually never works and you still have the same channels, select Default instead.
Or if you know the the numbers of the multiplexes your nearest transmitter broadcasts you can do a Manual Retune.
The unusual thing about Edinburgh was that until recently the council provided limited services through the payment of Council Tax for shared stairs whether the properties involved were privately owned,
