DvrOnTime can save either format. As I understand it, Foxes utilise the M2TS format to facilitate variable speed playback. When a TS file is played by a Fox, spooling is barred, although jumping still works.
Good old fashioned word of mouth. It's much slower than Google (rendered in 0.392 months :) ) but it's "Targeted Advertising Algorithm" based on "Natural Intelligence" beats Google hands down! I guess they didn't bribe Google to put it up yet?

Woohoo! New kid on the block, called AdBreakerUK. It does what it says on the tin alright. Best I've had so far.
It's UK only, which may be why it gets it so right. There was nothing to do, I just told it where my stuff is (network aware) and left it to run.
It has a rudimentary interface...
Yeah, but that doesn't fix the problem where the end of the first show only exists at the beginning of the second recording. Just as it gets exciting, the player stops and you need to access your media files to get the second recording (that's if the recording weren't so long ago that you can...

Third recording started 5 minutes into third show, and...

It transpires that my problem was that the logon for the DvrOnTime machine used a blank password, and that's what broke DvrOnTime's networking ability.
Yeah, I know, but the network is internal only, and...
I am having the same problem recording to a network drive with DvrOnTime. I can successfully write to the network drive manually using sceptic's method. Whenever I attempt to set the network drive as the target in DvrOnTime Settings, I don't get the green tick in Settings and the target...
I have acquired a Fitlet with Win10Home on it. The Fitlet is a very basic tiny PC that you can put in the glove compartment of your car, and use it for mobile entertainment. It is very slow, though. It does not have a fan, so it can go in the tv room without annoying anyone. I am not...
Yes, rebooted after regedit. I am reluctant to go to Win8, but maybe I can trial it on one machine. There will now be a looong pause while I upgrade the Mac Mini and BootCamp.
Meanwhile, thank you for going over the top in trying to resolve my problem. It is much appreciated.
