I might have been too quick here - it seems that it's only possible to record up to one non-Freesat channel at any given time. At least on a looped tuner setup. I have asked for clarification from the experts in a different thread.
I would like to clarify a few things with the non-Freesat experts:
In manual tuning, what's the difference between Network on and off? It seems that only when Network is off the manual tuning finds CNN HD, Bloomberg HD and Al Jazeera HD.
On a looped tuner setup it seems only possible to record...
Exactly, same thing for CNN, Bloomberg and Al Jazeera. First version will probably be hard coded to these channels, next version could potentially be customizable.
Perhaps it was recording something?
When you perform a manual tuning for non-Freesat channels you'll be able to "import" it into Freesat mode using the Channel Editor and watch the channel in Freesat mode. I'll provide documentation when I upgrade RS for Foxsat-HDR.
Correct and there are no...
That would explain why the channel wasn't removed.
The box needs the Housekeeping boot for populating the EPG and other things.
The channel is still there in non-Freesat mode (LCN 5205 on my box but it's box-specific). I'm extending Remote Scheduling for Foxsat-HDR to enable you to schedule...
It's gone from Freesat from both my Foxsat-HDRs but still available on non-Freesat. If you have a Foxat-HDR, did you leave it in standby? If not, C4 HD will be removed from your box at the next Housekeeper boot.
I'm working on an update to Remote Scheduling for Foxsat-HDR that will allow you to...
That's assuming it will stay in FTA, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I will ask for some help from the experts whether it would be possible to record non-Freesat channels through an enhanced version of my Remote Scheduling port for Foxsat-HDR.
Such a shame even if it stays on Freeview in HD. Content was broadcast at a very high bitrate, eg the movie "Win Win" 01 Feb 2018 01:55:
4769 kb/s on Freeview, 9589 kb/s on Freesat, twice as much!
Interesting point but wouldn't that carry the same cost so no point if they're leaving in order to reduce costs?
Remind me again which limitations we have with non-Freesat channels? Am I correct in assuming that there's no EPG and hence, only possible to schedule manual recordings?
In case you haven't seen this already and was wondering why the Channel 4 HD EPG wasn't populated after Sat morning: Shocking news: Channel 4 HD is leaving Freesat in 2 days!

A potential solution for now is to schedule the recordings manually instead of off the EPG. At least this worked on the Foxsat-HDR.
I'm considering a new feature in Remote Scheduling to convert all scheduled recordings to manual ones but it gets quite tricky to work out when to apply padding.

Same issue here on two different boxes. A cold boot and EPG refresh using the remote has not fixed it. An issue with all the channels I've checked.
Not an issue on Freeview, only on Freesat.
I've released a new version 1.4.5-12 of rs, which adds the channel-editor dependency.
I suggest all users that have problems pushing their channels and/or have EPG Region = Unknown on https://rs.hpkg.tv/acct/ upgrade to this version.
Now that's very interesting, I wouldn't have thought channel-editor was a required package for rs. I'll have a look and potentially release a new version of rs with this dependency added.
Thanks a lot for reporting the issue and finding a solution!
