I've used the web UI to clear all the log files on both HDR Fox T2s to zero length, I hadn't realised just how long ago some of them started. I've also done my annual retune on both boxes, it was 24 Jan 2024 last time (I can tell from the last saved schedule backup).
Ah, I wasn't aware of that.
I'd found that on playing with the auto event for my second box. I'll have to remember to use it once the last episode has aired.
I've just updated packages on my boxes, I probably last did it 6 months to a year ago. But RS was not among the packages updated so I was already on the latest RS. And what is wrong with files that start 10 years ago? Old files don't stop working. I don't spend my time needlessly deleting or...
If I delete and recreate the auto events in RS, finding the matching events no longer says it informed me of them in 2023. Whether is is a broadcaster error re-using series IDs or a bug in RS I can't say.
EDIT: Using the Reset option on the auto event also clears the date it last informed me. I...
I think I've spotted the problem. I've had these RS auto events for years for the last two series, and RS for both boxes says it notified me about these in 2023:
Yes for both HDR Fox T2s.
Appears in queued commands list on both boxes and eventually in recording schedule on both boxes (I scheduled a reboot on them both in RS).
No, never used that.
Network errors are expected evening of 18 Jan, power was out to a third of the estate for 40 minutes and that included the FTTC cabinet so I had no broadband. Clearly it has no working battery backup, it died immediately the power went out. Fortunately for me the lights just flickered briefly.
I don't know, I haven't checked rs.log on my boxes. However I can say the HDR Fox T2s are on wired ethernet through a gigabit switch back to the router so I don't suspect local network issues, unlike your experience.
I have RS set to match on any channel event title as per the title of this post (if I type it here I goes in as Italics, grrr). For one box it should just email me, for the other it should schedule the series. A new series of Astrid in Paris starts Friday on More4, and if I click on the RS...
All the HD channels are now broadcast on a single multiplex so your box is tuned to the same thing. All that changing from BBC1 HD to 4HD does is causes the box to pick different digital data out of the stream it is already receiving. So it is very unlikely this is caused by the tuner.
I just found this today and 044 for the Audio button drives the volume and mute on my parents' new (to them) Arcam A29 stereo hifi amp.
It's just a shame the volume buttons in PVR mode can't be made to drive the amp rather than the HDR Fox T2, if that were possible the remote would be perfect.
