Failed recordings - and more!
Well done. It can take a long time if the file system has significant damage. If you can leave it running overnight if need be.- MartinLiddle

HDR 1000S 500gb HDD Failure
Over at MyHumax.org there are a number of reports of using a heat gun or hair dryer on the heatsink of the processor being successful with the problem of losing connection with the hard drive. Humax FVP-5000T Keeps re-booting
Just install it. The FVP will probably format it automatically when it detects an unformatted drive; if it doesn't then Settings> Storage will offer a format option.- MartinLiddle

Constant rebooting, every few mins , yet recording seems to work ok
Have you added anything to your network that provides DLNA? If so you might try installing the DLNA-Filter package.- MartinLiddle

Fairly recent legislation does allow roads to be closed for special stage rallies; not exactly racing as the cars start at 30 second intervals.- MartinLiddle

Can't connect to FTP server
First question, do you have a PI-hole ad blocker or similar installed? It has caused Aura FTP connection problems for others. I use Filezilla for FTP transfers and for me over a cable connection to the Aura it works first time every time. Settings: Host: <Aura's IP address> Username: aura...- MartinLiddle

The light fitting is a couple of metres from the kettle and the light fitting and kettle position haven't changed in 20 years.- MartinLiddle

The switch on the relevant breaker could be pushed into the "on" position with zero resistance which is what I was trying to convey by using the word "limp". My guess is that some time, not too far in the future one of the bulbs will fail.- MartinLiddle

Humax greenscreen on some tvs
It certainly could be a component failure but back in the days when you could buy brand new HDR-FOX T2 there were reports of the problem with brand new boxes.- MartinLiddle
