I did also notice that folder names were truncated to 6 characters, but not the file names within the folders. So, maybe that is corroborative evidence that the USB sticks are underpowered. I'm not sure how I could supply them with more power though.
The USB sticks I used were also quite old...
I thought reinstalling the official firmware might have fixed my crashing problems, but on Friday it crashed while playing back a recording (it wasn't recording at this time). I power-cycled the Humax and then played the recording again from just before it crashed the first time. The recording...
I only have SD TV and radio recordings on the Humax. I also have another, older Humax HDR-Fox T2. I've copied recordings between them several times and successfully played them. I even copied off all the recordings on the T2000 I returned and put them on the old HDR-Fox before I sent the T2000...
On 1), after I had disconnected the aerial, I still had the same problem, so I think I can rule 1) out.
What I did do last night is to reinstall the official firmware, as a first step towards reinstating the Humax to its delivery state prior to returning it. I also set up a test: the problem...
Thanks for your analysis. Are there any experiments I can do to distinguish between these possibilities and what can I do to cure them?
Here are my thoughts so far. Please let me know if these are correct.
On 1) I assume that by "something on your Intranet" you mean some rogue code on some...
My brand new Humax HDR-Fox T2 has started exhibiting the following symptoms:
1. Freezing up so that it fails to respond to commands from the remote or front panel buttons, so has to be power cycled.
2. Not recording some programmes or only recording part of them.
3. Showing 'no signal' on the...
That's definitely a strong possibility. It's a pity I did not think of that before I returned the 2000T. I've never had trouble with the Fox-HDR T2 auto-tuning nor that on my various TVs, so it just did not occur to me. Also, the reception on some channels was fine. I made successful...
Sadly not. I had intended to do a series of signal tests, but the combination of the small returns window extension that Amazon granted me and some personal constraints meant I had to package up the 2000T and post it off in short order or lose the opportunity altogether.
One of my main reasons for buying the 2000T as a second PVR was to record Freeview channels 10 and 20 (ITV3 & Drama). I'd recorded 8 such programmes before I got around to watching them. All 8 were hopelessly garbled and had to be deleted unwatched. I had previously successfully recorded...
I take it all back. I've just tried the TV Portal on the HRD-2000T again and it worked today. I'm not sure what changed to make it work today and not a few days ago. Some mysteries are beyond human understanding. :)
What is the situation with the HDR-2000T? I just bought one as I needed a 2nd PVR to my existing HDR-Fox T2, and I've got exactly the same error message when I try to connect to the TV Portal. The firmware is 1.00.07. I thought it might be out-of-date, but automatic search for an updated...
I run the customised firmware, rather than the vanilla. Is there version of that which will restore the portal? If not, then I'll live without it.
Also, I understood from the discussion that 1.03.12 was not available for the HDR-Fox T2. Did I misunderstand?
When I press on the TV portal button I get the error message "Unable to connect to https://www.humaxtvportal.com/".
I found that the password in my internet settings had been wiped, so I reset it and got a message that the wi-fi link was now active. However, I still got the same error message...
I just helped my son-in-law install the customised firmware and various packages, including rs. [He has tried to register for this forum, but has yet to get the confirmation email, so I'm posting for him.]
When we registered for rs, the registration message ended that it had failed in it's...
Thanks.
Did you manage to select the MP4 version or do you know how this can be done? Ezra Pound's post suggests that there is not a version that will play on the Humax.
