You might be on to something there, @Black Hole, with the network set-up as I reverted to wifi some time ago. Will reconfigure back to LAN as I know that some wifi dongles can cause problems (although I never experienced these before with the dongle I use). Perhaps @arf123 can confirm this.
My Hummy has been suffering from a high number of crashes and I'm trying to understand what is causing them. Can anyone explain the following, please:
*** Core file /mod/core/humaxtv.1427138891.236 ***
Mon Mar 23 19:28:11 GMT 2015
Core was generated by `/usr/bin/humaxtv'.
Program terminated...
Many thanks guys for this invaluable information. I will continue to monitor and hope that it doesn't escalate. Never had problems with my network before but worth investigating further.
In checking out my system for a problem with both decrypt and detect ads, I experienced a couple of crashes. I ran the crash diag and it provided the following details of the last 2 (various others with same failures):
Thu Sep 27 17:27:49 BST 2018
Core was generated by `/usr/bin/humaxtv'...
Thanks, af123. Should I be worried that the remove button is greyed out or is this a safeguard? Strangely when I click on info, the remove button is active again but on refresh reverts to greyed out.
I have re-run fix-flash-packages and still get the following error.
Configuring webif.
Collected errors:
* file_md5sum_alloc: Failed to open file /mod/webif/html/favicon.ico: No such file or directory.
On viewing the webif package on the packages page, the remove button is again greyed out...
Nice one, Black Hole. I obviously meant the hardware. Software by definition can fail but at least it is recoverable. :)
In saying the above, I notice that every time I try to upgrade mvdisks, it states success but doesn't actually upgrade the package. similarly with the webif and...
On looking at the current queue, it's obvious that something corrupted whilst I was away as none of the files were decrypted as well. Everything running smoothly now. Happy bunny again. This Hummy just keeps on running. :)
Thanks for the quick response everyone. By forcing a "fix flash packages", it seems to have solved my problems. I've now installed the boot-settings package. Must have missed the fact that poweron-channel was obsolete. Hopefully, I've now got everything back to normal. Am currently...
Have been away all summer and on my return I noticed that all recordings still had ads. I have investigated the logs and can see no reason for this. The Chaseget log has recurring entries of "not awakened by chaseget - quit" but nothing on the detect ads that I can see as to why it's no longer...
Many thanks for the link. Actually found this and was working through it. Just realised that it might be Twonky that is causing the problem (doh!). Got a new media server and forgot completely about this issue. Fingers crossed that all is well now. Thanks all for helping. :)
Have recently been experiencing regular crashes on my Hummy. This invariably happens within a couple of minutes of starting up. System locks up then reboots. Can't find any indications of the failure apart from stating that it has crashed. Any ideas where I should start looking/testing.
I checked the POC and it appeared to be set up but just to be safe I have re-entered it. Not sure why a re-tune would remove settings from the custom software.
