Thanks Trev & Mike
Sorry to labour this point, but I CAN get a perfect picture & sound on the Com 7 & 8 channels, but only when recording/watching another channel. Perhaps this gets rid of the interference between the two transmitters?
However the problem is no longer restricted to those...
It's a mystery then! Thanks for bearing with me and taking the time to help with this.
Still interested in learning more about this, especially if it leads to a solution to the problem.
Other than that, sounds like a need to start thinking about getting a new PVR.
Sorry, I really appreciate your help but I don't really know how to interpret these figures. The quality reading on those two transponders doesn't sound very healthy though? I've just looked again and it's down 5-10% most of the time.
To recap from earlier in this thread:
New aerial was...
Been away for a couple of weeks, but back on this now. Results of tuner test earlier in this thread. After trying a new aerial, I'm back to thinking that there is a problem with one of the tuners. I can still receive the problem channels if I am recording something, which suggests to me that one...
I think I'm back to my original prognosis - one of the tuners is failing. I've just tried playing BBC News HD while recording another channel (unsuccessfully) and it works fine with my original and new aerial.
Actually Argos might be a better option as I can pick one up tomorrow.

Also, should mention that the TV tuner seems to work fine with the new aerial. With the failed recordings issue I mentioned in thread I...
New aerial actually slightly worse than existing one! Frequency 470-790. Forward gain 13dBi. Is it worth trying another one? Can you saend me an Amazon link to one that might work better?
Plenty of disc space.
I won't do a factory reset until I've tried my new aerial out (in thread below this), I need to keep the existing tuneings to judge if its working or not.
I’ve just noticed that over the last few days all of my recordings have failed, despite the red recording light being on for the duration of the record. With series records, the files show up in the directory as 0K, with one offs or live recording, there is no programme file.
Any ideas what’s...
Thanks both. I've ordered the Tri Star, should arrive tomorrow and should have some time on Friday to try installing it.
I'll be aiming for Ridge Hill. I only mentioned Mendip in case that would be a better option for, but sounds like Ridge Hill is the way to go.
I've noticed that the...
Looking at the location of the other transmitters, as the new aerial will be on the side of the building, not the roof, the only other transmitter mentioned here that it would have clear sight of is Mendip.
Will the Tri Star aerial do the job? It's the only one that I can get delivered...
OP here, been away for a while, but keen to sort this out before Christmas if possible.
I spoke to the building managers and as predicted they are not prepared to do anything about this unless they have complaints from more occupants.
Rather than call out an aerial installer (which would be...
