OK .... found one thing now not working ..... TRASH
if I delete a file it does not go into trash, do I need to reinstall app (don’t want to break anything)
Update - I have installed the app ..... is there anything else I should set as all seems to be at default.
OK this 4th run was much quicker less than 3 Hrs.
Diagnostics now look like file attached.
Does this mean HDD is now OK ... or does it need replacing ? .... which was thought yesterday.

Should I run just fixdisk or should I add any attributes saw one post where it was said use fixdisk -1 -y
I did try looking in WIKI but could find no list of additional options
fixdisk has now been running for 38 Hrs for last 14 or more every entry is about one recording .... :

fixdisk still running .... been 28 Hrs so far - this is a long disk session. .. is there a report I can get on completion or it is a cut & paste from Telnet screen
The WD I mentioned is a BLACK and it does say recommended for PVR, I have been reading through past posts and it seems there was was a reason not to have the model with 'auto head parking' but that seems to not be on the models for some years. Maybe I'll just get what is best offer.
Asking around on Hardware forums .... been advised that buying a WD HDD is much better (on all fronts) that a Seagate.
Better reliability, 3 yr warranty to quote " WD20EURX AV-GP Specifically built to last in high temperature always-on streaming digital audio/video environments such as...

I understood you can put a new HDD into PVR (running CF) and it takes care of all formatting & setup.
Why the need to change partition .... keen to know
Is that procedure documented somewhere ? ..... done plenty of HDD swap out & re-partitioning on PC's but do not have an understanding of HDD on the Humax boxes..
