Living in the UK it is not possible to vote for the Chinese Peoples' Party. There is no chance of a communist party coming to power in the UK, barring apocalypse of course, but the zombies would probably get us first.
Regarding the 'scheduled start' parameter, I added that line to make it equal to the actual start time just for neatness, as these values can end up being very different. This parameter is not used for sorting so it is not important. You may prefer not to change it as it will tell you...
To play on a Smart TV it probably doesn't matter if you remux to 'ts' or 'm2ts' but all native recordings on the HDR-FOX are in 'm2ts' format and are just (incorrectly) given a 'ts' extension. For both HD and SD recordings you need to keep the 'm2ts' format, and manually change the extension to...
Nicesplice does not fix the stream timestamps so at each join there is a jump. The video is cropped at an i-frame, but the audio isn't necessarily so the audio stream may start a little earlier than the video: this can confuse some players. The easiest fix is to remux the edited file with...
The HDR-FOX only uses the date and time information within the hmt file, which is set by the script. The original script also used the touch command to set the external timestamp of the hmt file. This file is written to during playback and the timestamp changes anyway. Webif orders recordings...
@Oatcake was kind enough to create a script to do this: see here. I tweaked the script slightly since, as described in this post here, and the posts below. @/df did some modifications to automatically handle BST/ GMT but I could not get this to work so I stuck to my version where it asks you...
ITV has worked for some time now. I think since around when ffmpeg was upgraded from 2.8 to 4.0. I think that at the same time @af123 added browser patches from Opera that had something to do with it. You may well be right about openssl being the key package.
I stand to be corrected, but I thought that if you install auto-unprotect (to deprotect high def. recordings) and flag the 'Video' folder for automatic decryption on the HD-FOX, then any recordings will be decrypted automatically using stripts rather than the DLNA server.
Changing the decryption...
You can change the encryption key in Webif>Settings>Advanced Settings. Stripts is not needed since if you make the encryption key on the receiving HDR-FOX the same as the source HD-FOX the recordings will be decrypted by the HDR-FOX when copying using the remote control handset.
You just need the encryption key from the HD-FOX, there is no need to update the custom firmware if you are taking this unit out of service. Do the copying with the remote control handset: copying through Webif won't work.
Making the encryption key of both HDR-FOX units the same is not essential...
I suppose that if that is how he wants things done, and is paying for it, then it is up to him. There is nothing wrong with the Oxford comma though, in fact it can be very useful: see here. Sometimes it is essential for clarity. An example “I love my parents, Jane and Fred”. Are Jane and Fred my...
For a start, update your custom firmware: at least on the HDR-FOX. It is now possible to decrypt on the HD-FOX but it is slower, especially so using the native encryption key.
The easiest way to transfer your recordings is to first work out the encryption key of the HD-FOX. This is based on the...
Usually they just fade quietly but they can go out with a 'pop'. I think a build-up of gas causes the shell to explode and then they just leak out. I heard it happen once and found the leaking battery soon after.
Probably should be in the customised section.
The easiest solution is to use the remote scheduling service (RS). You can see when the box last contacted the server, there is an accessible log which tells you when a recording has been completed and you can get the server to e-mail you if the...
@geordie - as the 'sharefolder' parameter is set to 'on' presumably the contents of the NAS folder should be found in a folder called 'Video' within the 'My Video' folder on the HDR-FOX. Set this parameter to 'off' to mount the NAS folder as if it were a local USB device.
Just to check, the ip...
Has anyone ever tried running an encrypted Foxsat recording through stripts using the MAC address/ serial number combination that the HDR-FOX uses as an encryption key? The Foxsat is slightly older than the HDR-FOX and they may have used the same encryption method and key generation formula.
Out of interest (sad, I know) I tried to download an AVC3 stream. On iPlayer, the Rick Stein episode you downloaded was no longer available (as you said above), so I picked another one and listed the available streams (--list-formats): all them were AVC1. I copied the iPlayer URL on Android...
You could try using ffmpeg to remux and change the tag. I don't know if this will be enough to make it playable, but it should be quick:
ffmpeg -i "In.mp4" -map 0 -c copy -tag:v avc1 "Out.mp4"
EDIT. The link in post #2 suggests the same tag command as above, I didn't notice this earlier.
