Naïve. I've learnt something today. The two dots are a diaeresis not an umlaut, and indicate the vowels need to be pronounced separately (effectively the opposite of a diphthong). If English spelling made use of accents, it would be a lot less confusing!- Black Hole

The EPG goes stale if the unit is left turned on without channel changes. My units are left on, and have reminders set for the very early morning to enforce channel changes. If you deliberately receive from more than one region (eg England and Wales), you need to set the reminders to include...- Black Hole

My advice: don't. We know far more about this stuff than them. Pretty much, although if you read up about such things as custom firmware you'll find a variety of work-arounds and preventative measures. See the links in my sig panel (the footer to this post). What's silly is that the EPG can't be made to hide items which are not broadcast on Freeview. Our HDR-FOXes are not capable of recording nor even fetching IPTV content, so should not show these items in the EPG. As EEPhil said, consumer devices won't record IPTV, that's where catch-up services...- Black Hole

Some general comments: If the 'fox is in standby prior to recording, for AR it needs to transition to half-awake about 15 minutes before the scheduled start time so that it can monitor the now/next (AKA start flag). Problems can occur if it goes to half-awake and is looking at a mux from a...- Black Hole
