Well I downloaded Mezzmo and installed it . The video files that streamed from my windows7 laptop (WMP) streamed easily via mezzmo, video files that are on my laptop and won't stream to the hummy via WMP transcoded on the fly and played on my hummy; stuttering ie transcoding is slow ( mkv to...
another point, maybe when you play to your toshiba the file you are playing may not need transcoding as the tosh is capable of playing the native file on your pc. The hummy will need files transcoded to a format that it can play ie.ts, hence the delay when you use the hummy
Can't say I really understand your problem, the hummy will only play what you are giving it so if its not getting any info from your network it can't play anything,
also this from the Mezzmo specs
Powerful format support and transcoding: All popular video, audio and image file formats are...
I use liveonlinefooty and display it on my tv via hdmi port from my laptop . The picture is really good as is the streaming. I asked a long time ago if this could be incorporated into the portal, which would be ace, but was told the subscription thing really screws it.
there will be an upconverter in the transmission path that passes hd progs but upconverts normal sd prodgrams. These sd progs could already be widescreen or 4:3. Someone will have made the decisions on how these 4:3 signals are handled . Crop top and bottom and make them 16:9 or even compromise...
that's because the simpsons was made 4:3 if you want to stretch it set your tv to auto not original. Most tv companies compromise the transmission ie cut the top and bottom off to give a 16:9 picture but with cartoons it's not possible so they transmit as they were made
I have a Picassa folder so i thought it would be good to view it on my TV. From my pc it's very easy to log on but on the Humax I've tried everything but I can't log on . Anyone been able to log on ?
I've had problems int he past were routers are set up to only allow a fixed number of wireless connections in my case 2. Turn off your laptop and see if the Humax connects. also I've found that the Humax sometimes come up with cannot connect to network, usually after I've reset my router...
Mines the same some show, some don't although recently one album which didn't show cover sounded crap so on my pc I made a new copy from a flac and upped the bit rate put it back onto the hummy having first deleted the crap version and yes you've guessed now shows album art. Can't possibly be...
Just to clarify, you don't need an iPad to use rasperry pie. There is an app available to allow an ipad to work with it, from what i can gather a rasberry pie with xbmc installed should talk directly to your Hummy. Can't wait to get hold of one to have a try
So if i was to ask were's the cheapest place to buy a hummy, you wouldn't tell me and more importantly block anyone from telling me. If I was advertising my company that would be something else. People are asking for advice and are being pointed towards good deals, what's wrong with that ?
I've been looking at Apple TV small box, can be jailbroken and XBMC installed should allow full internet access on your tv and streaming to and from your hummy, I've not tried it yet Costs about £80
I've got a 42 inch Lg can't remember number but that has always been fine never had a problem. Seems sony's suffered a bit, no surprise there, if one company can make non standard " standard " sets then it has to be Sony. I've used sony equipment professionally for 25 years and have never found...
I think it's safe to say the hummy assumes a16:9 tv , anyway go spoil yourself get a brand new shiny tv and I bet you find you're 10 year old crt was dearer than the one you buy. Never been better value !!
Thanks for trying to send me the test slides should have been .com not co.uk.
Anyway did some tests, i took 2 pictures of the bbc test card , one with a 4:3 camera and the other one with a 16:9 camera. When I played these back they both played as expected, circle on the test card was a circle on...
