Photo aspect ratio squashed
mmmmm interesting , I've had a little mess about as well , bit confused but it's getting clearer . Some of my pics look wrong because my old camera was an odd format, tall people but my Olympus dslr the pics are 4:3 hence when I see them on my tv in 16:9 they look ok . A couple of years ago there were many discussions like yours, sd better on 9200 etc, doesn't work on my sharp/sony /panny . I've been lucky my TV an Lg never had any problems from day one. I don't think the think was made with crt's in mind and I'm sure when you do get your new telly you'll see...- brianmt

I've got quite a few photos on my machine and they display ok, but I am using a wide screen telly. What I can do is switch my telly to 4:3 and see if I can recreate your situation. theoretically 576 p is better quality than 576 i so I'd keep it that way . i stands for interlace and really is a hangover from olden times, it was a way to enable analoque signals to be transmitted. All lcd's as well as computer monitors are progressive p not i, so what you are doing is...- brianmt

I think the hummy will try to display what you give it ie if you give it a 16:9 photo it will display the whole photo and if you display it on a 4:3 TV then I'm afraid it will be squashed, The hummy has no crop facility. Try cropping a photo to 4:3 before sending it to the hummy and see if it's ok.- brianmt

Newly upgraded - a couple of questions...
Just had a little play and the Hummy does see XBMC and it appears on the network. I would suggest not to download XBMC Eden it's only beta and I've just found a couple of problems with it. May be the way I'm using it but it certainly has a few funnies- brianmt

Never had a problem with Win 7 and WMP works well although you must have the latest codecs loaded. All in all XBMC is probably the best solution, it works, it's quite quirky so feel free to ask dumb questions, we all have. streaming to an android device
I use skifta, as the server ( free download from market place ) and vplayer again from market place unfortunately not free but 30 free trial . Plays sd perfectly I've not tried hd- brianmt

I posted this sometime ago I have HDR Fox T2 which is just over 1 year old and is a really fine unit but It seems to have a peculiar problem. Since day one the unit, sometimes, would be still off in the morning ie refuses to come out of standby. When it does this, the unit has to be switched...- brianmt

Don't hold you're breath with Humax support, still waiting for a reply for over a month after sending multiple emails. Anyway the early days of the humax 9200 we all had problems trying to playback .ts files then one day someone said try renaming them to .mpg files and hey presto it worked, so...- brianmt

If you google what files your sony can play you will find they are propriety Sony, Panasonic files, no suprise there then. I've used Sony gear professionally for many years and they never make things easy. They'll invent a new format rather than use a common one, goes back to betamax days. I...- brianmt

I believe it can be streamed to an iphone but I've an Android( which it works on) and unfortunately you do need a subscription £ 6 for 2 months. I'm more than happy to l "lend " you my log on details if you want them. Thanks- brianmt

I think the link you're referring to is mine, I was explaining to someone on Av forums that you can stream liveonlinefooty using WildMediaServer. This works very well and yes like you I connect up my pc via HDMI sometimes, I just thought if it could be done it would be a nice addition that's...- brianmt
