Volume solved. If I have favourite 1 set on my machine at power off when it switches back on in the morning it reverts back to TV ie I have to select favourite 1 again . More annoying than anything else. 9200 would remember you're favourite setting

Have a similar problem, I have to run a loop for hearing aids and do it the same way as yourself I use the Humax because the headphone socket mutes the speakers. I think you'll find the majority of modern sets do that. It's very rare to have a separate headphone output.
For some reason , I've never had any problems using windows 7 with my Hummy. Luck maybe, anyway just found this article explaining "How to" might be of use to someone, also a new codec pack for windows 7, which I've installed with no adverse effects...
Media Player Classic uses K-lite codec pack and the latest codecs do not work. I use an old version 4,6 , quite old never use MPC so I've never upgraded, this version 4.6 works really well. I spent hours last week trying to get the new ones to work with no sucess at all !
