Did you ever solve this problem? Since I upgraded web-if, auto-decrypt no longer works on any of my systems . Recordings in some folders occasionally get queued, but the queue is never processed.
Just in case anyone other than me (and you?) is intrigued by this odd behaviour on the part of d126 and the Enc flag, I can report that the three of my three machines that have identical configurations of firmware (Humax 1.03.12, CF 3.03 (build 2368), WebIF 1.2.8-16) behave differently. They...
Thanks for taking the trouble to check. I have no answer to the double entries either.
BTW, thanks for your regular helpful posts on the forums. Much appreciated.
We don't appear to have an 'egg on face' Smiley, so I'll just have to report that Sod did indeed strike. After a straight run of nine Enc-flagged recordings in the series, the tenth was clean as a whistle, with the 'Copy permitted' flag in the hmt file set correctly. I'll continue recording...
Yes thanks, I was aware of that. But in my set up it gets corrected by other means.
I was really just trying to focus on the specific problem of why certain programmes end up with the Enc flag set and why the d126 output appears not to correlate with what actually happens in practice. Until...
You're right - of course. Sorry about my careless typing.
Put my over-caution down to fifty years of chasing bugs, which has taught me not to confuse a work-round with a fix. Where possible, I always try and leave a bug visible until I have a fix, or at least an adequate explanation. But...
I think I have the opposite problem to most of the posts over the past few weeks i.e. SD recordings that have the Enc flag set, but do not appear in the d126 list. In particular, every episode of the series "The Indian Doctor" so-far broadcast on BBC 2 over the last two weeks has been so...
Many thanks. Yes, I was aware of how to get round the problem. I was just intrigued that there appeared to be a mismatch between what the predictive tool appeared to be telling us and what appeared to be actually broadcast . Maybe prpr has discovered the cause. For what it's worth, I note...
I realise that we now have a simple by-pass for this problem, so perhaps most people have lost interest. However, I was intrigued to notice that - at least on my machine - "War Horse" recorded without the Enc flag, whilst "The Heist" (BBC2 Mon Jan 25 00:10), not in your list, did have it...
Yes, I understand, thanks. Let's hope that there aren't other less useful 'holes' for me to fall down if the BBC continues to 'nudge' SD users over to HD. :)
Raydon, thanks for your full response - and apologies for putting you to so much trouble. I was familiar with all that - despite appearances to the contrary (!). But I do admit to taking a step too far in drawing the specific conclusion about the possible legitimacy of the Enc/Dec combination...
Thanks for your earlier full and helpful response. Your hmt format document has been my bible for the last few years!
May I take up one small point, however. Your revised wording for 0x3DC states:
'Encrypted' flag. 1 = Decryption allowed. Determines if decryption on copy to USB is allowed...
The BBC's response to the Digital UK consultation of May 2013 also makes interesting reading:

This leads one to wonder whether their motivation for the apparent changes in...
Absolutely. The subject is confusing enough as it is without me adding more by mistake!
I noted your earlier comment on the need to update the documentation when we finally get to the bottom of this. I'm happy to help if I can. Regards.
With apologies for my ignorance, it seems to me that, in principle, there might be at least four different places where one might encounter information that might be pertinent to any 'scramble/do not copy' indicator:
a) in the EPG information transmitted ahead of the time of the programme in...
I hate to be the skunk at the tea party, but.....
So diligent was I to follow af123's advice that I stupidly set all my three recorders to install auto-protect before last night's transmissions of Shrek the Third and The Road. As a result rather than the house full of Enc icons that I was...
