  Thanks - will do. The command line (i.e. ls, cd etc) can still find the hard disk; so hopefully all is not completely lost.

  Many thanks for this very helpful comment. I did not get the Wizard, nor need to re-establish preferences etc. So, presumably there was an auto-tune failure. All is now OK. Thanks again.

  I had exactly the same symptoms (including the double re-tune) on one of my three boxes, but not the other two. A friend had similar problems on all three of his. In my case, there was no correlation between the failing vs non-failing boxes and their disable-ota/dso states. Is it possible...

  Not to mention a considerable proportion of boxes that now have 1.3.12 which may have a serious, but undisclosed, technical or legal problem. If so, it will be interesting to see how Humax get round it. A downloadable 1.3.11, anyone? We shall see - eventually.
