I had this issue on mine and sorted it by changing the resoluntion of the FVP.
When setting the box up it defaults the resoluntion to 1080i. I changed mine to 1080p and the problem has gone and the picture looks great :)
Well my 1TB unit arrived last night and setup went well. Interestingly I didn't have to do an update as it was already applied to the machine unlike the 500GB unit I set up for my friend last week. I think the hard drive is a little quieter too which I am pleased about.
There are definitely...
No, I use the jump buttons on the HDR which doesn't show the timeline as I find using the left and right cursor keys a bit unpredictable and end up going further than I want, therefore I prefer the workings of the FVP :)
I set up my friends FVP-4000T at the weekend and after talking her through all the controls and features I have decided I really like it now and decided to go ahead and order a 1TB version for myself. Thanks to an eBay bonus I got it for £185 :D
I am in a minority in actually liking the new...
I will need to unbox it again tonight to check up on that as I am fitting it at the weekend hopefully. I just wanted to get all the updates and tuning done last night at home and a quick familiarisation so I am prepared when all the telephone support questions start occurring :D
From what I...
Set up my friends last night and I agree the guide is not its best feature..... hopefully it will improve. Far too big with not enough information on display. I think she will be ok with it as her current 9150 only shows 5 channels and no PIP so she will probably think it looks very pretty...
No ability to create your own folders in the library :(
I will be setting one up for a friend in a few days so I will be very interested to see how it compares to our HDR. She currently has an old 9150 so won't notice things like not being able to create folders or seeing fewer programs on the...
Looking at the screenshots that were posted earlier in this thread it looks like it only only shows 5 channels at a time on the guide whereas the HDR shows 7 channels. Also no picture in picture in guide, is that correct?
Also, does the jump forward/backwards work OK. I understand you have to...
OK, thanks.
I am definantely going to get a FVP-4000 once the 1TB model is available so will post my findings when I get it as to what happens. If it doesnt do what I want then I'm not too bothered really, but it would be nice. Main reason for giving up the trusty Toppy is to get HD upstairs.
I would be interested to know how you got on with this?
Currently I have an HDR-FOX T2 running custom firmware downstairs and a Toppy in the bedroom. I am looking to retire the Toppy (still working perfectly) and replace it with a new FVP-4000 but am undecided whether to simply replace the...
Looking at the pictures it seems we have lost picture in picture on the guide now and I also can't see any skip backwards/forwards buttons on the remote either :(
Snap, I turned mine on last night. It booted up ok, waited for it to fully load so I could change the channel, but it wouldn't change, then I saw 'rebooting' on the front display channel. It was fine after than.
Funnily enough first the first time since I have had the box (tow years I guess)...
Thought I would add that I purchased a HDR-2000T for my Mother-in-Law yesterday and I updated its software to 1.01.06 which went without a hitch.
I also connected it up to a wireless repeater and I could successfully stream content, both SD & HD from our HDR-Fox T2. It wasn't entirely smooth...
I often wonder why they couldn't provide a 'rough' approximation of remaining space in either hours of GB/MB
I have it on my Toppy and its really quite useful and surprising accurate. Obviously there is no mix of HD and SD content so probably makes it easier to do the calculations.
There was no accurate bookmark at the beginning, but 42 minutes in. I have 2 mins pre padding and 6 mins post padding and I got the whole of the programme.
The programme started about two mins into the recording.
