So here I have a 64GB microSD card that is being used as recording media in a CF3.14 HD-Fox T2.
After originally formatting it with CF3.13, humaxtv showed plausible values in the on-screen Settings>System>Data Storage display, like 58GB total, 20GB reserved, whatever (<38GB) used.
Subsequently...
With a second HD-Fox T2 system, USB hard disk + WiFi dongle in USB hub, the 3.14 update went perfectly from the WebIf updater. It even appeared to fix the inability to find the package repository when updating channel-icons (only), but surely that was a coincidence.
There's a new working-for-now master version at github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-dl, with a downloadable version for your non-Humax platform at .../ytdl-nightly.
As topicality is already wobbly let me just recommend the DA doc "The Man Who Imagined Our Future" on Sky Arts (shown again a couple of nights ago; if only there were some way to set up a reminder for its next showing ...) and ofc Hyperland, his greatest TV work (where he especially does what...
Try https://github.com/xoofx/stdatomic (mirror).
From the J Gustedt write-up, I guess this will be similar to the gist that I borrowed, using the old gcc __sync... functions to implement the C11 spec, per JG's 2.3.
I started a new thead for this somewhat abstruse sub-discussion: https://hummy.tv/forum/threads/quickjs-a-js-interpreter-for-the-humax-fox-t2-platform-is-it-possible.11683
The good news is that there's basically just the one file with 60k lines of C.
The bad news is that there's basically just the one file with 60k lines of C.
I love that Bellard can keep this entire thing in his head -- or is it just easier to search in a single file ...?
With some borrowing...
Nor so fast, though. We should still be able to do something with YT in the short term even if formats and logged-in features are limited.
If I or someone can get QuickJS running on the Humax platform, all bets are on, even if they may take eons to cash in. The author is the creator of ffmpeg...
https://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Customised_Firmware_Release_Notes knows not of 3.14. If this thread contained a post with a list of new/changed/removed features, etc, the page could be updated: @Ezra Pound. Or just link to this thread.
Exactly. /etc/init.d/S89maintenance forces Wi-Fi on if it detects a supported device (iwgetid, ~l.130) but apparently in some cases (hidden SSID?) /sbin/wifi-up then hangs when the expected connection doesn't materialise. Basically, it's the problem of Sheldon Cooper's friendship algorithm and...
Blank before installing WebIf, etc, that is, or the cfupdate package could not have been offered. The actual CF in flash ROM is CF 3.13. The "USB stick" is a 64GB MicroSD card in a USB Hub/reader,. 37GB available after set-up. For further clarity:
# opkg list-installed
7zip - 9.20.1
abduco -...
15-ish years on, what's the recommended multi-mode setup? I have settings based on AR for BBC TV and generally padding for other TV and for all radio, but I can't now see the justifying post or Wiki entry.
The index of primary topics for dropbear-ssh links to its original use way back in time, in the midst of the general CF creation thread. So I've taken the liberty of making a dedicated thread.
Obvs this is not just a good turn (if it is), but an opportunity to post that the installation script...

CF update 3.14 from web package manager hangs with panel showing ⋿I-FI after reboot and countdown from 60, after this web output:
