Optimum Solution for Backing-up HDR-Fox T2 Recordings (not CF)?
IF you can achieve 10MBs then a full backup would take about 10.5 hours so just about possible on a daily basis, but I still think it would be better to do a full backup (possibly over several days) and then incremental backups of newer recordings on a daily basis, Somehow you would need...- MymsMan

How many full copies do you need! Once you have made your first full copy it would be faster to make duplicates on another machine - the Humax has a pretty slow USB transfer speed. Obviously some copies should be moved offsite for safety. There is little point in backing up every day recordings...- MymsMan

The simplest would be to plug a USB drive into the box and manually start copies of the latest recordings as part of your daily ritual- MymsMan

DLNA indexing video/mp4 as audio/mp4
In my experience VLC is one of the few apps that will play .ts and .m2ts files, will your TV allow you to install VLC as an app BTW the humax recordings are actually m2ts format mislabeled with a .ts suffix. The difference from real ts format is a timestamp in each frame header- MymsMan

What is the status of my Hummy?
The reinstall wizard is an unfortunately frequent occurrence on the humax and merely signifies one of its internal databases has become corrupt. Letting the wizard run and then restoring schedule and favourite channels from backup is all that needs to be done. There is no need to reinstall...- MymsMan

Ping not finding local devices by name
I have I have tried adding entries to mod/etc/hosts (and rebooting) without success 127.0.0.1 localhost 192.168.4.23 ls220d3b1 192.168.4.25 mymsmanacer EDIT I need /root/etc/hosts instead ! But that doesn't survive reboot so an init.d routine needed to copy it across Strangely...- MymsMan

A bit more digging shows that the problem extends to other devices including my Android mobile phone which used to be able to connect to the humax and other devices by name can't I do have zeroconf installed on the humax - but still cant ping it from phone using either humax or humax.local 😠...- MymsMan

Taking Humax off the Network
What do you use your Humax for? Do you ever use the webif to schedule recordings or manage existing recordings? You should probably uninstall the remote scheduling and auto-update packages first so they aren't wasting time trying to talk the servers but not real problem if you don't Unless you...- MymsMan

No these commands need to be run from a command line, there is a Command Line option on the diagnostics page, or you can use Telnet or Putty If prompted for a PIN try 0000, If given a menu of option enter cli for System command line, then right click to get Paste option- MymsMan

Occasionaly Sysmon's database becomes corrupted, you can attempt to repair it using the command here if that doesn't work you can delete the old database rm /mod/monitor/monitor.db- MymsMan

Ideally the fix would be made in Nicesplice to not require a sidecar run but this may require a substantial change/rewrite An easier fix would be to allow Crop, Join and Sidecar to run in the background processing queue - this would rmove the need to leave a web page open while these slow...- MymsMan
