The original definition of the epg format was very poor - it should have defined sections for New/Repeat, Series and Epsiodse,
It shouldn't be hidden in the programmes synopsis with no standardized format
BBC always use a new series crid with each new season of a programme unlike other broadcasters, this is especially annoying with programmes like Homes under the hammer, Bidding room, Repair shop where they mix new and repeat episode.
It is is possible for Homes UTH to have 5 different series...
A Major unstated requirement!
Surely you could use the PC for searching and then come back to the TV once you have worked out what the name is and which folder the recording is in! I hate using on TV keyboards for any data entry.
The closest thing usable on the TV is Flatview as mentioned...
Looking on HDR FOX T2 there are NO series crids on ANY Channel 4, 4+1. 4HD programmes from Saturday 11th onwards
Other related channels E4, More 4 .... seem to be OK
A serious broadcaster error that will hopefully be fixed before the weekend but worth submitting a complaint.
It is Flexview not Flatview that provides the filtering/sorting ability
Yes I did mistake the package name in my reply - BH said Flatview and I realised Flexview already solved the problem
I should have thought of Flexview (since I wrote it) !
You don't even need to use the "find in page" since each column has a filter field at the top
NB With flexview the sorting and filtering is done in the browser not the humax so while the initial data load can be slower than Browse -...
The epg is a database so it is simple and quick to do fairly complex searches of the database.
OTOH Recordings are stored in hundreds/thousands of individual files in the My Video directory and subdirectories.
If you were content with just a file name search you can do something like:
humax...
More like 54 years from 1971!
As mentioned before install ntpclient if you are planning to run without an aerial connection, PC or router can act as ntp server if needed,
And what time does the Humax think it is?
From a command line (telnet, putty or webif->Diag->Command Line) issue the date command
If you install the ntpclient advanced package the clock will be updated from the internet.
Unless you actually record late night programmes you could schedule a 1.5 hour off period so that it works in both summer and winter without needing to worry about resetting the time switch for BST
Minor problem deleting a downloaded .mp4 file using the multi-select delete option, likely to be caused by % in name
Also affects Copy and Cut
Deleting via webif opt+ menu works hence not a major problem
I thought had set the time switch :dunno: but failed and for some reason the powered amplifier/splitter in the loft chose the same week to fail :( so nothing would have recorded anyway!
A few hours in the loft to discover this and bypass the splitter which is now not required since the kids...
My ToDo list got disrupted by discovering that not only had the Humax hung while we were on holiday but something has also broken the aerial connection and we have no TV signal at all except in one bedroom :dunno:
