Out of nowhere my FVP5000T has started having this problem. When I turn it on it says “network disconnected”, the time stamp is wrong, there are no recordings in the list, and I can’t get it to start recording by using the remote. If I set a recording it starts, then craps out after 1 minute...
We've had to rely on ITV player (streamed from an iPhone to an AppleTV) to watch the last 3 episodes of Broadchurch. This weeks episode didn't record at all, and the previous 2 weeks we had the "could not track programme" error. After watching the episodes last night I checked the EPG to make...
Was watching the playback of a recording last night, when suddenly (how else lol) I got the "This channel is scrambled or unavailable). This was maybe 15 minutes into playback. I stopped the playback, and re-started it (resume playback), no good, same issue. I stopped playback and went to the...
I had an external backup (Seagate 1TB USB HDD with a load of stuff on (which wasn't all on the internal HDD - I'd copied off a failing internal drive before replacing it) as I've had two internal drives fail so far. However this week the external HDD has died - not recognised by Humax or laptop...
I've recently a) installed CFW 2.20 and b) installed a new HDD (same as originally fitted) to my Hummy. Since, I've had 3 freezes when looking through the list of recordings in the "media" folders. Bt freezing I mean the box fails to respond to the remote. Fixed each time by a hard reboot of...
I know I need a CE drive, and I can find several online. What size is the one in the Humax? 3.5"?
I was thinking of this one...

Well, trying to fix my disk problems, loaded custom firmware, used telnet to connect to Hummy and put into mainteneance mode, all good. But when I reopen the telnet session it fails to connect "can't open port 23". Any ideas? Oh, and box had frozen - had to power off at mains to restart...
So, when looking at the channel numbers on the Digital TV UK site for my best transmitter (Oxford) some of the multiplex channels ahve "+" or "-" after them, some don't.
What's the significance?
Quite odd really. On the occasion of the previous retune (9/9 I think) the Hummy did it's auot-search thing (I had no idea in advance anything was going to happen, as I don't frequent here unless I have problems!!) and, apart from all the dross returninf to the EPG and of course the deletion of...
I've searched, but can't find the answer :-) though I expect it's here somewhere! I'm migrating from a toppy to a hummy. I've exported my .REC files from the toppy (using Altair) to my laptop and will be converting them to another format for the hummy to play.
1) What format should I convert...
I've replaced my Toppy with a FOX T2 Humax, but have run into a problem connecting it up with the TV and DVD. With the Toppy it was easy - it has a scart pass-through, so it was DVD>scart>Toppy>scart>TV.
I should mention that the TV is an old CRT one, with 1 scart and 1 co-ax input. The DVD is...
