Hi Notac,
I had exactly the same problem with my FVP5000T a couple years ago. It worked perfectly for several months after purchase, then for no apparent reason the signal strength kept dropping to zero.
Also like you, I received advice & various possible solutions from Humax Support, none of...
I had the similar problem with my 5000t
In Settings my Humax showed Ariel Signal strength & quality at 100%.
What it didn’t show was that the signal strength may be too high, i.e. above 100%, (In my case caused by my Ariel masthead booster), then the 5000t is liable to freeze & loose signal...
That’s great news!
Don’t understand why Humax don’t mention it in their Fault Finding section, or indeed if we contact them for help!
I guess that’s why this forum is so useful!
Hi Clacksman, I had the same problem with my 5000t, & I also have a mast head amplifier with indoor power supply.
Mine also showed as 100% strength & quality. What it didn’t show was if the signal strength was too high (above 100%). I also got regular freezing & no signal messages.
I...
I'm guessing that may be the problem.
I gave up using the h3 around a year ago as it kept failing. I gave it a try again after we moved, & it failed straight away. However after posting in October I gave it another go. Whilst I've had to reboot a few times in the last 3 weeks it is working ok...
Hi Chris, that was exactly the same problem that I originally posted in October. Netflix & Youtube have always worked of on both devices. The problem is always “Channel unavailable” (x all) & recordings temp disappearing or unable to play on the H3.
Sometimes corrected by rebooting the 5000t...
Hi Chris, sorry to hear you are experiencing similar problems. Humax Support always make out it’s a unique issue!
About 3 weeks ago I think there was an upgrade & my recordings started working again on the h3 after I rebooted both the 5000t & the h3. It has only failed once since & another...
Over the months I have used 3 different Routers - BT Homehubs 3 & 6 & the latest Netgear hub. Made no difference.
Also, when I connected the 5000t direct to the H3 using an Ethernet cable, I lost the Internet connection, as the 5000t wouldn’t allow me to use the Wi-fi option as soon as the...
Hi Gasuk,
Thank you for your post.
I was beginning to think I was the only one with this particular problem!
Your journey with the H3 is virtually identical to mine, ie contacting Humax Support, replacing the H3, hard wiring with Ethernet cables, everything working fine except recordings...
Any suggestions on how I can fix this would be gratefully received. Whilst I’m pleased with the FVP 5000t, the H3 is currently unfit for purpose. Is anyone else having similar problems? Help!
I have a FVP 5000T which works fine.
My problem is Recordings Playback on my H3 Espresso connected in a nearby room via TP-Link Ethernet cable or normal Wi-fi.
Wi-fi is excellent for all appliances (Smart UltraHD TV, Humax FVP 5000T, computers, IPads etc)
Home Fibre Broadband speed via Wi-fi...
