Thanks guys, I did of course (wrongly) expect the Humax to do the formatting. I have just completed the exercise of formatting it via telnet so will now reassemble everything and hope it all works!
Well, the case was very difficult to break into but it's done now and the drive is in my backup Humax with the latest CFW. Trouble is, it's been formatting all night, so that's not working now. My son said that when he put the 2TB drive in his Humax it seemed to take seconds.
Anyone have any...
Yes, I did a while back thanks. It seemed that the current version of the CFW would have the answer but from what I can make out it only seems to apply to internal HDDs larger than 2TB. I did enter into a dialogue with af123 but after I uploaded a couple of screen dumps I heard no more.
I believe this is the relevant section of the output, I hope it means something to you. Unfortunately my version of putty froze while I was doing the screenshot - should I just reboot the Humax?
I have a couple of T2s running CF3.10 (build 2734) on 1.03.12, but I have been unable so far to get them to see my new 4TB Seagate USB drive (model STEB4000200). It came formatted for windows but now I have tried using GPARTED to create a 4tb GPT partition formatted ext3. Neither box sees it...
Loader is a7.34, Micom 9.3, Update Date 10Dec 2013, and it's a refurbed ?GB, not /RE.
EPG speed is the same as my old one, i.e. much faster than my Foxsat HDR!
No doubt you guys will be aware of the new software 1.03.11. I received a refurbed 1TB today and it had this loaded, so I'll wait patently as I have the cfw on my old machine (running 1.02.20) and it's been fantastic. Never having seen 1.03.06 I don't know how this differs.
just to add to the issues, I am no longer able to connect to the portal. I get an alert saying "An error occurred whilst launching the application http://localhost/portal/index.html. I had already updated to the latest custom firmware as I thought it might cure this issue, but apparently not...
