That was what I thought, and so was so surprised it was the lead. The fault wasn't intermittent - many times I swapped it between TV and Monitor with same result (nothing on TV, fine on monitor)
Only thing I can think of is that the monitor probably has better sync capabilities, and so when...
OK, well the friend I got the TV off came round this morning with lots of bits to swap and test - including a different Humax and a different HDMI lead (with SKY stamped on the end).
Well, it turns out that a different lead worked perfectly - even though the old one worked fine on different TVs...
I thought of that, but it still works in the monitor......... I will try another cable anyway when I have one.
EDIT: Just tried the monitor again. Works OK. Says No Cable, then when plugged in says Input out of range (but in more words), then when pressed vformat, picture appears.
TV just...
Oh yes, it also worked perfectly when I first bout the Humax and set it up on my old 40" TV, before i had to switch to a PC monitor.
All the bits definitely work, it just seems to be this combination - which doesn't make any sense.
I'd forgotten how bad video through Scart was :(
OK a New Year puzzle for all you clever folk.
I have been using my HDR T2 with a PC monitor, through HDMI for the last 6 months.
A friend just bought a new TV, so I've had his old one. He was using it with his HDR T2 through HDMI.
Now at my house, I cannot get the TV to see my Humax through...
Anyway, back to the original question....
Did the op install the latest version of vlc? That hasn't done Upnp properly for ages.
I'm running the same old version (2.0.8?) on W10 as I had on Win8.1 and it works perfectly.
(The built in player does better in W10 - it now plays the video...
Just discovered something with mine which may help you, or could be something entirely different. !!
My HDR-T2 is currently connected by HDMI to a PC monitor, and it fails to bring up a picture most times it's turned on - error "mode not supported" on the monitor. However, I discovered that...
At the risk of suggesting an obvious, but 'out of the box' (pun intended) suggestion.....
Why not buy a cheap second hand HD/HDR T2 and connect it to the second TV and then stream it over.
In fact, any cheap media streaming device - eg rasberry Pi
If you're after Live TV as well, you could...
Yes - it's the mux with BBC1 and 2 for a second time, very weak signal.
I live in an area right on the edge of the main transmitter coverage and has fill-in repeaters etc - so if I do a auto the channel numbers go well in to the 1000s !!!!!!!
It's annoying because the network search works...
Thought so. I was just hoping that the WebIf had either a way to remove the dodgy mux or a setting to hide 800+ from its epg.
It's quite annoying when you do a search, and that will be my main use of the WebIf - searching the epg.
The daft thing is, the shopping channels I've deleted from...
I've finally installed CF and having a play. Apologies if this turns out to be a stupid question.
As it's a new box, I have done a full retune (actually a manual network search).
I selected my region (only one option) and all is good on the box.
However. the WebIf epg is finding 800+ channels...
It's just arrived, so off to follow the above advice - lets see what we have ;)
(Though, the guy obviously doesn't have kids as the remote isn't as trashed and scratched as mine!!)
There's still some fierce bidding. I was lucky as it was timed to end Saturday morning so not as much competition. Still three other people bidding in the last 20 seconds though?
Missed out on a couple that went for over 80, and seen broken ones go for 50
And that's just this week ;)
Yes. I've been doing it that way to copy from the T2 or to enable HD streaming (though I don't often bother and stick to SD for most things as usually streaming to a small display anyway)
The trick for streaming (which I found elsewhere in this forum) is to copy the HD files to a temp...
And I guess that is twice - once off to external HDD and once to put on new device!!
I use FOXY ;)
What do the T2's go for normally on eBay? Seen a few at reasonable prices but I expect they will shoot up in the last few minutes like most things do on eBay!!
