Hi @Tim Day
... I only got involved in this thread after those issues started ... and can confirm that, while they may persist when using the Humax Portal iPlayer app, there are no problems with downloading streams from iPlayer using the qtube and youtube-dl packages with the custom firmware ;)...
... Thank You very much!!!! ... it took me a while to spot the button to Show advanced packages :whistling: ... but I've got there now and last night's UC is downloading as I type
Cheers, Phil
Hi @Black Hole
... do you just mean the "Save last streamed content" button on the Browse Media Files page of the webif, there? Or is there an alternative way (some package I've yet to download, perhaps) of accessing iPlayer content?
I'm having the same problem as the OP, you see ... and I...
... thank you, that's got me sorted
... erm, is that intended as a rhetorical question, explaining why you'd started with that advice? Or are you genuinely asking why I'd not installed it? You do appreciate that most people out here don't just have ALL packages installed, as...
Hi @prpr
I'm sure your instructions would have worked, had I not been so incompetent as to misname the file tunefix-update.config :dunno: ... and not realise until after I'd given up and done a manual retune, after which tunefix has resorted things impeccably. For which I truly Thank You...
Hi @MymsMan
I think I've (finally) got to grips with this package … Thank You, very much for all the work you've put into it ;)
I think I've now got it working for me … but I did have some challenges, the final one of which I sorted out last night by reading just about all of this thread (I...
... hmmm, that's as may be :o_O: ... but, to once again quote the sage advice I was given earlier on in the thread ...
... just saying :whistling:
As it happens, by uninstalling tunefix and tunefix-update I have effectively removed those entries from those files (in fact, not just effectively...
... but for me, and my hummy, it isn't :o_O: ... so no problems ... I know this package is "one of your babies", and I don't want to go disrespecting it, or you, when you've been so helpful to me ... but I'll respectfully point out that as far as I can see from that thread over there ...
...
Hi prpr/Trev
...
... I suppose one reason for uninstalling is just to see the panic it creates in members on here ;)
... but then again, maybe I'm just following the sage advice given earlier on in the thread … that went…
… and I'm only at the end of the first step ... so far :whistling...
Hi All
Just coming back to update the thread ... I've now had a new aerial and masthead amplifier fitted (both claiming to have 4g/LTE filters built in) ... and I've uninstalled the tunefix package and retuned, by doing a complete first time install ... and everything is looking perfectly fine...
Hi @Ezra Pound
... be that as it may (or may not) ... the wiki still needs updating
As I advised at post #50 in this thread the "preferred" method of specifying settings for the tunefix package is now via the GUI in the Webif at
>> Settings >> Settings for tunefix package
… the wiki still...
Hi @Black Hole
... to be clear, when I first installed tunefix the range 751-799 was included in the set of logical channels to be removed by the LCN statement in the tunefix.conf file ... I edited that out to stop BBC1 & 2 disappearing altogether ... I'm sure @prpr will be along to explain...
... while I recognise that more people will be experiencing the problems I've been having over the course of the upcoming months/years as all these muxes get allocated to different channels to free up more frequencies for telecoms ... I think we need to recognise that this is a "temporary" issue...
Oh @prpr … you've only gone and DONE IT :doublethumbsup::doublethumbsup::cheers::dance: …
... check out how my EPG is looking now ...
Few will understand how wonderful it feels, for that to look so normal … Thank You! Thank You! THANK YOU!!
Now, while the thinking cap is still on, can I just...
... OK, I'll put it at the bottom ... hopefully, that'll minimise the chances of me bu**ering anything else up :o_O: ... and once I've got these channels in accessible locations, I promise not to go editing the tunefix settings whether via GUI, text editor or anything! ;)
Cheers, Phil
Hi @prpr
Wow, it looks like you're going "above and beyond" for me here ... Thank You! :);):)
I'm away from home again, atm, but will follow your instructions as above when I get back later ... bearing in mind the order of application rules @Black Hole mentions above, is there any particular...
... of course, edited above, that's a problem from reporting the next morning what I did the night before
... yes that's exactly what's happened, no channels appearing in LCNs 1,2,8 or 9 :dunno: ... no other channel renumbering packages are installed and the names are picked up by the...
Hi @Ezra Pound
... thanks for updating, but from the conversation in the thread that @prpr linked to above (I'm still not allowed to post links yet), and above in this thread, I think it is now agreed that the "preferred" use of tunefix is via Webif >> Settings >> Settings for tunefix package …...
... well, until late last night I had HDR_FOX_T2_1.03.12_mod_3.00 installed ... as to why, I guess because I got to a point back in late 2014-5 when everything was working just fine and life then proceeded to "change my priorities" as to what I would spend my time doing (leaving less time for...
