Has there been a Change to Webif Detect Ads?
Mea culpa! Automatic regeneration of the .nts file has been a great help, even though it does take time. The sidecar routine has separate options to regenerate each of the two files, .hmt and .nts. Might those options be taken advantage of somehow?- escat

I'm not sure whether this was meant for me or not. If so, we may be at cross purposes? I've never used detectads (the log is empty) and I only use autorun for decrypting recordings (which are in the log). Our usage of crop would appear to be quite different. Having said that, I'm quite...- escat

Sorry. That was my mistake - and my sloppy description. I shouldn't have said on the 'bookmarks option', which incorrectly gave the impression that the bookmarks option couldn't be selected.. I should have said that on the resultant bookmarks display , the non-existent bookmark is displayed...- escat

I sure do! I'm not sure yet. I've only ever used crop 'manually', so this treatment of bookmarks is not what I expected. I've never used detectads so I will need to think what I would expect in those circumstances. But please feel free to go ahead without me!- escat

I relied on that for several years, until - some time ago - it started being less consistent. I've now got a hub with individual power switches, so it ought to be easier for me to experiment. This question is way above my pay-grade, but my guess is that it's part of a Plug and Play mechanism...- escat

Correct - more or less. The name appears if you select Media -> Video -> USB. If I attach 4 different generations of Seagate device, I get the following list of 'names': Portable Portable Go Flex Expansion Desk You will see that they are not the names of the devices in any technical sense...- escat

Yes, thanks. I have used a similar sort of work around for years. I just make sure that I have a different number of main directories on each drive. The Humax screen reports these as 'files', of course, but it works. The other work around that I've used in the past is simply to buy two...- escat

Brilliant! That does display the correct Volume names. I have to confess that I'd never even noticed the eject button before. Of course, that doesn't help me when I'm looking at the TV screen. But the drives do appear in the same order on the screen as in the WebIF list. So presumably the...- escat
