You don't have to tell me but with a wardrobe full of salvaged parts "that might come in useful" the "house manger" ruled that we were not keeping any more unless it had an immediate use. (In amongst the salvage is a complete functioning custom firmware Humax Foxsat HDR which has been there...
I did search the forum when the problem first started and I have seen both those links before. I also checked out the PSU and every other sub-assembly. To me it appeared very much like a PC memory or motherboard fault as it would boot from an external device but not internally. Anyway in the...
This is how it died: It became increasingly unreliable with it locking up when viewing a channel and more often than not it would fail in a recording. On a hard re-boot it would go through multiple cycles of loading the firmware in to a green screen until eventually it continued normally. Then...
Sadly our HDR-FOX T2 HDR 500GB which has served us well for years with customised firmware died. However the disk was still good and the label on the bottom gave us the Serial Number and MAC address. So with the Linux version of "stripts "some 200 files of my wife's favourites were recovered and...
Is the Remote Scheduling Portal still sending out event emails?
None have arrived for a couple of weeks when they should have. I have checked junk, spam folders etc.
Sorry Mike your link 404s - Having put my Foxsat HDR into STB mode (not Freesat) I'm experimenting with trying to create a favorites list of marginally interesting channels as opposed to those that are completely useless. Don't yet know enough to comment.
I am back out in Spain (near Malaga) and can confirm that all the main UK Freesat channels are no longer available to the Humax, however the rubbish channels still are proving that the kit is OK. So it looks like the move to Astra 2F is complete.
Putting the Humax in to "STB" mode pulls in 245...
Installed 2.19(1815)/1.03.06 this morning and everything appears fine except the Portal doesn't appear to work. The menus appear almost off the bottom of the screen with a white something or other at the end, the coloured buttons and exit work but nothing else does.
Have I missed something...
I have Raydon's superb Media & File Server Bundle v 4.09 installed but I have lost the "Actions" from the Package Manager. Everything else appears to work.
The FOXSAT-HDR is in Spain and I am using the Web Interface v 2.73 in the UK if that makes any difference.
Any ideas ?
After upgrading to 2.15 the network shares disappeared. Putting a USB drive in occasionally made 1 out of 4 visible but not accessible, not the same share every time. I have Virtual-Disk2 and network-shares-automount 1.4 installed. (3 shares to a NAS Box, 1 to Router attached USB storage. Both...
I think I may have found a problem with virtual-disk2. Having installed it I can't modify the [mod-settings] remote shares with Webif because they appear locked for updates. Thus a new one can not be created because the template can't be updated.
Uninstalling virtual-disk2 allows me to...
@makem
Yes it will take 100% cpu as processing video is very cpu intensive. On a laptop it will take a while as they are not usually that powerful. On my 2.4 MHz desktop I would expect about 20 mins per GB. With FFMPEG the work is being done by software not dedicated hardware.
If the TS...
You need to open a Command window (Type cmd in the run box). Get FFMPEG.EXE and your TS file into the same directory that the command window has opened and simply type
ffmpeg -i input.ts -target pal-dvd -vcodec copy -acodec copy output.mpeg
at the prompt. It will take a few minutes and spew...
Yes it does - Tick the "Show command line" under "Options".
It appears to determine what it can do from FFMPEG itself as the options change when you provide a new version of the FFMPEG.EXE
I prefer it to Avanti which I tried first.
