It is a FAT-formatted card in a USB reader/writer, but the test recording was teeny-tiny - like a minute long and ~50MB. Does the file system still make a difference if its capacity isn't being reached? I will try again with some other test recordings but as the box itself made a sort of popping...

Has anyone been successful in using the Foxy/hex editing method of transferring HD video to USB? Through FTP I've edited the .hmt file for a small test recording which (as expected) removes the "Enc" marker from the Media section, but after using Opt/Copy To... and selecting the USB option...
