No problem - I have tried a couple of different leads, including leads that are working fine with other devices (PS3 etc...) but that didn't help. That is what made me wonder if there was some component failing that meant that the Humax's HDMI output was "weak" but there is nothing obvious on...
Might be on some TVs. On my TV I lose all picture and sound for a moment. Use to work fine on my older Panasonic TV but the new one (also a Panasonic) started doing this a little while ago, perhaps after a firmware update? Sadly I don't have anything that can show me the HDMI negotiation...
For a long time I've had issues with my Fox-HDR T2 video flashing during play (does not affect the SCART video). I've managed to solve this by adding one of these...
Is the stripts source code available somewhere? I don't want to start messing around with the firmware on the Humax but I already run Virtualbox VMs on my PC so could build and run stripts on there since it is Linux based and therefore should compile on ubuntu or similar.
Black Hole - many thanks for letting me know that. I can easily rattle of a quick Python script to nobble any 'enc' flags each night and since I'll only be using DLNA, save myself a lot of bother pre-decrypting!
Getting this problem too and also periodic picture black-outs and sound drop. Given that reseating the cable works and, for a while, holding the cable at a slight angle (wedging something against it) works I suspect a bad solder joint on the HDMI connector inside the Humax. I'm going to take...
Got to agreee for the OP, 8 months old, send it back. Mine is somewhat older than that so I might try the custom firmware and IR package - which software specifically?
Being able to fix this by replacing the front panel might also point to dodgy components or solder. However my box is...
It's not the remote as I can take it out of the room and the Humax continues to 'scroll'. Given the 'cover the sensor' solution, I have a suspicion, but it's based on intuition and similar issues elsewhere and not fact.
I wonder if the IR sensor on the Humax has AGC (auto gain control) to...
I've just hit this too and I'm very confused. Covering the IR sensor does seem to stop the scrolling but there are no lights lit in my lounge at all. All other remote controls are removed from the room and this FOX HDR has worked perfectly until today. I've tried a factory reset, reflashing...
Anyone know of an equivalent to TStoDVD? Seems that the HDR uses a different "TS" file format from the 9200. BluRay would be a "nice" but at the moment it's really only SD to DVD I care about.
Doesn't need to be flash, just a simple means or archiving off those rare TV appearences by the...
Gave the Splash Player lite a try last night and it sounds fine. It seems to realise that there is a 5.1 soundtrack (I only have 2 speakers on my PC) but played fine for both vide and audio. This was the same HiDef file that fades in and out with XBMC and VLC.
So would I be right that you can play a HiDef using XBMC and hear it pulse, but Splash Player plays the same file without sound pulsing? Worth a few bob for Splash Player if it does but just want to check you were comparing like with like.
Thanks
Papadeltasierra.
Thanks to Raydon, af123 and others I've downloaded a decrypted HiDef file onto my Windows XP PC. But when playing this file with both VLC and XBMC the sound "pulses" getting noticeably louder and quieter. The picture seems fine. I tried using m2tstots on the file to see if that had any affect...
So can I stream HiDef at all or not? Only after the "USB copying"? Only if I load a different add-on to Windows Medai Player? Never?
Thanks - I'll give this a whirl with the SD stuff and see if that at least work.
Ezra, thanks for that but I'm still confused. You say that after Foxying, the Humax treats both HiDef and SD as the same - in which case why do only the SD files show up when I try to play them via the DLNA server? Neither Windows Media Player nor XBMC can see the HiDef program. I appreciate...
Two questions about Foxy and the DLNA support. Having Foxyed the HMT file, the HiDef file does not appear to media servers - is this because it is still encyorted and if I "USB out, USB in" the file would it then appear via the DLNA/uPNP support?
Secondly, how do you determine the URL if I...
That was very handy. I had not twigged that it was just the hmt file that needed to be copied, tweaked, copied back. I was expecting to be copying the whole large-number of gigabytes so thanks very much for making this clearer to me.
