I did not know that "Fix your network" is a link. I have now clicked it but I'm none the wiser, except that this is not a forum for Freesat. My Humax Foxsat HDR cannot connect to the Internet directly - all I can do is download stuff to my laptop and get it into the Humax via a memory stick. No...
Custom Firmware v 4.1.3 but Web Interface only v 2.89.
Tried clicking the upgrade tab in package management, but got the following response:
wget: bad address 'hpkg.tv'
Downloading http://hpkg.tv/foxsat/base/Packages.gz.
Collected errors:
* opkg_download: Failed to download...
I thought iPlayer worked fine for me because I had not tried it enough times. From others' comments it seems that 1.03.03 is not good, and has the lip sync problem that 1.03.02 does not have but is made worse by iplfix.
Here are my answers to your questions:
What is reported on-screen with Menu >> Settings >> System >> System Information (a photo would be good)?
Are you or are you not running custom firmware?
I am
If you are running custom firmware, what are the versions reported bottom right of...
I deleted 'CFW' from the filename to get it recognised (Readme.txt doesn't say anything about it), but I still get the error 'bad address' when I try to refresh the package list from the internet.
Yes, I can see the HD-FOX via the wifi to the router, and I got a message telling me the recording HDD was not connected and needs to be. I switched it on and instantly the webif package got installed. (in answer to prpr the box only has one socket to connect to router or laptop). I will check...
I am eager to check out Black Hole's questions, but I have a dilemma. To access the internet I connect a cable from the box to my router. To connect my laptop I use the same cable from the box to my laptop. On my laptop I get a message saying that if the box can connect to the internet I can...
iPlayer still works fine for me on 1.03.02. My broadband speed is only 6.3Mbs. Playing a recording I made of Strictly Come Dancing on 1.03.03 (only to get lip sync at the time) works fine. I tried the Twitter app but it doesn't work, maybe because twitter has changed over time. I get a message...
Thanks, I already found it and it cures the problem. I now have to investigate what is wrong with it that the later version is meant to cure. If it's iPlayer I can live without it and use my laptop for that.
I am using 1-03-03 firmware on HD-Fox T2. The lip sync on a broadcast programme is way out, and the 200mS adjustment is insufficient to correct it. However, on a recording made on an external HDD the lip sync is fine with no adjustment. To view a live broadcast, I start recording it, and after a...
Thanks gents - everything is now working and I was able to download two packages.
What I should have told you is that I normally have the Humax connected by cable to my laptop which is connected by wifi to my router. When I set DHCP on the Humax I could no longer access it via the laptop, and...
I have not (yet) seen what addresses DHCP would produce, but for the manual setup I used the router address for both Gateway and DNS, which I use to connect my laptop to the router and internet. Are you saying that the Foxsat might end up with different Gateway and DNS addresses? Would my laptop...
The reply to my telnet was
* opkg_download: Failed to download http://hpkg.tv/foxsat/base/Packages.gz, wget returned 1.
How do I fix my DNS or Gateway on the device?
My foxsat custom software can't download packages, even though I can see them directly via my browser. After a failure it says "wget: bad address 'hpkg.tv' ", then lower down "Perhaps you need to run 'opkg update'?". How do I do this?
As I said above, I've posted to the wrong group, Freeview not Freesat. However, I can assure you that the YouView HD files are encrypted even though they end in .ts, and are not playable except in the box. I have not encountered m2ts files so presumably they are the encrypted ones in the Humax...
