It's just crashed again, so that's twice in about 60-90mins. Picture froze with the sound still working. Remote didn't get any response from the machine, then it rebooted, but this time it's rebooted successfully without sticking.
So I'm at loss with this machine, it's not the hard drive as...
Turns out it's not the HDD at fault. It's been working with a different Seagate Pipeline drive all week, and all WAS working well until sometime in the last 30mins.
Just came back in the room to see the Humax start-up screen frozen on the TV and the front display stuck on Cust FW3.13
So goes...
It's a Seagate Pipeline HD.2 500GB. I think that's the same as the FOX-T2, it's certainly the one mentioned elsewhere on here.
So I tried it and first thing it wanted to do was format the HDD. Strange as it came out of another Humax, but maybe the DTR-1000 format is different to the FOX-T2...
I've got a BT branded Humax DTR1000 which in appearance looks identical to the FOX-T2 apart from the BT logo.
Would the hard drive in that be suitable as a temporary fix?
It's had little or no use so the hard drive should be ok, if it's compatible.
Thanks.
Thanks, at the moment I'm going to carry on copying what I can to an external drive while it's still working. Once I've got the most important files copied then I'll start looking at repairing the disk.
The only thing with this older firmware is that it won't copy in the background. Just get a...
Quick update: I've installed the earlier HDR_FOX_T2_1.01.09 software as mentioned on one of the other threads.
Now the message has gone, and it will let me copy to the external drive.
Luckily nothing's been deleted, it still has the same free disk space as before.
Recording now works...
Hi,
My Humax HDR-FoxT2 has developed another issue.
I just tried to delete something and now it won't stop saying * Deleting... on the on-screen display. It's got the Custom Firmware installed so I don't think it's that software bug causing the box to randomly delete things. I think it's just...
Yes it's a 3.5" HDD. I'm assuming the Clock Display VFD and perhaps the tuner would also need the 12volts.
Well it's been kind of been behaving itself this week. It only crashed out once while copying to an external HDD. I normally use the rear USB socket for copying but now finding the front...
I've just tried running the HDD Test and it passed... twice. "HDD Test Pass No defects are found"
Settings>System>Data Storage>HDD Test
I did try changing the HDD when I first got the machine about 4 years ago, but it wouldn't even switch on. Seems to prefer it's original drive.
It was a...
Well I'm no further forward with this machine. It didn't like coming on from cold this morning but just got a few picture glitches, no reboot, then it settled and ran perfectly for about 4 hours. Then it completely locked up during recording, so the only option was to turn off the power at the...
Typically it's been working faultlessly today, so I've not been able to get any further. This is the problem I've got, some days it's works without any issues then another day it keeps crashing no matter how many times I switch it off and back on again. So it's a very unreliable machine.
It's...
Thanks I've downloaded the zip files now.
It's not connected to any network, I got the Humax 2nd hand and it already had custom firmware installed on it. Can I connect it directly to a laptop using a cross-over network cable to run these tests or is the only option to connect it to a router?
I...
Thanks again, as you say it's not quite the same fault as that particular one seems to be referring to an external USB hard drive. The internal hard drive does appear to boot up every time as I can clearly hear it spinning up. Some months ago when this issue first showed up I did try the...
Not that I could see, there's one about picture/sound break-up near the top but it's from 2017.
Can you tell me which one you've seen so I can check it out. Thanks.
It seems the FOXSAT HDR uses the same PW808 power supply board as the HDR FOX T2, so I've also checked the forum for that model...
Hi,
I'm wondering if my HDR-FOX T2 has developed an issue with it's power supply, which seems to be a Humax PW808 Rev 1.0
It has a number of odd symptoms.
Sometimes it's just totally dead, but switching off at the back and back on brings it back to life.
Sometimes it's stuck in standby just...
Hi,
I was given an old Humax HDR-FOXT2 sometime ago which appears to have custom firmware already installed.
First thing to note with this one is it likes to play dead. Turning on with the rear power switch sometimes does nothing. It appears totally dead. But turning it on and off a few times...
