Anyone watching the chess? Why the heck didn't Deema (or whatever her name is) take the checking rook with her knight??
 
I didn't see the programme and my chess strategy is lousy - but I can't see any escape. Am I wrong? Only two possible King moves then checkmate next move.
 
You are correct. Deema had the upper hand until a couple of moves before that, but took her eye off the ball. The TV coverage only shows snatches of each game, which makes them hard to follow in detail. Complete matches are on iPlayer.

Interestingly, this was a game of "random chess", where the pieces are not set up as usual but with a randomised layout of the back rank.
