Cannot change the channel error

Just tried to change the channel to BBC1 and I get this message "Cannot change the channel while recording or live streaming"
I can change to another channel i.e C4 etc but not BBC. All I am doing was recording Channel 5 and that's it. Any idea what's happening.

Thanks in advance.

I can change it now for some reason.
When it wasn't working I noticed if I went in to the schedule it didn't go straight to the channel I was on but went to BBC 1.

This error usually occurs when all three tuners* are in use recording and you try to switch to a live channel that isn't within a multiplex currently being recorded. I suppose it could happen if the Aura is standing by waiting for another recording to start. There are also cases where the Aura records two copies of the same programme.
(* By design, it is possible to record four programmes simultaneously and watch a fifth across three multiplexes)

Did you check to see which tuners were active when the error occurred?

Not sure I understand what you mean.

If you really were doing nothing other than recording one channel and watching another and changing to another that should only use two tuners maximum.it's possible the Aura's got itself confused. Try rebooting ([F] Goto the power icon, reboot)

He didn't qualify whether it was SD or HD, so you can't assume (or presume).
Nonetheless, it's a clue!
If the situation was as described - recording C5, viewing an unknown channel, that would be two, possibly just one (of three) tuners in use irrespective of StdDef or HiDef. Switching to BBC1 should still only use a maximum of two tuners. Of course, if recording 5HD and switching to BBC1HD then just one tuner needed. Either the situation wasn't as described or the Aura's got it's underwear in a tangle. Without more detailed information I don't know whether the Aura's confused or (unlikely) one or more tuner has failed. Like many computer based items a reboot might reset things. Failing that, a complete power off - disconnecting completely from the mains - for a short while and then rebooting might work.

When I said "When it wasn't working I noticed if I went in to the schedule it didn't go straight to the channel I was on but went to BBC 1"

I meant after getting the error and we couldn't change it to BBC, normally if you go into the program guide it goes straight to the channel you are viewing, which was STV, well it didn't it went to BBC's schedule first.

It was exactly as I said, we were recording Channel 5+1 and watching STV, and the channel 5+1 program was about to finish in a couple of minutes and then record another prog on C4.

As you said I think it just got confused. I turned box off by the remote twice to see if it would fix itself out, but no joy.

But as I said it eventually fixed itself.

So thanks for the reply's they are very much appreciated.

Unfortunately using the remotes standby button doesn’t turn the box full off, but instead switched it one of the standby modes. To be sure that you have turned to of fully, also switch of the mains supply to the box for a minute or so after switching it to standby.

If it happens again please check the signal test page to see how many tuners are actually being used.
(Press Settings icon > Channel & Broadcast> Signal Test)

When this was reported on-line before this issue had occurred more than once with the same person and Aura. Hopefully with yours it will be a one off.

That sounds like 3 tuners in use to me, assuming STV, C4 and 5+1 are all on different multiplexes. It would have been on C4 already waiting for the signals to do accurate recording.
