CFW on an HD Fox T2 - Query

Hi Folks

I picked up an HD Fox T2 to have a tinker with the custom firmware and Web-IF packages on an HD as opposed to an HDR. I know I need to attach a USB hard disk to install the Web-IF etc. I just wondered if there are any things I can't do with the HD that I can do with an HDR? Does it behave the same way as the HDR and just has it's hard disk plugged in via the USB port? Can I decrypt recordings and convert the radio stuff to MP3 for instance?
