Content streaming

Hello all,

I have a HDR 2000-T. I am trying to play content on my laptop (windows 8) I can locate and play the files on windows media player but there is only audio.

I have tried the Serviio thing but cant get that to find the Humax box. Ideally I would like to be able to just play the files through media player.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

I suppose the files are encrypted?

Try VLC player and browse to the files from its File menu.

Just tried that player. When I look for the files, the humax pops up in the file location window for a slit second before dispersing. When I managed to click on it an error message said something along the lines of 'file name invalid'.

Why does this not just bloody work!?

What version of VLC? I have had problems with the latest versions and am currently using 2.08. Then View>Playlist>Local Network>Universal Plug'n'Play

Are you trying to stream HD or SD content?

Why does this not just bloody work!?

1. You need "content sharing" enabled on the 2000T.

2. The 2000T will not share HiDef recordings.

3. Get the right version of VLC and use it in the right way - see post 4, and further info HERE (click).
