In the current circumstances a swathe of regular programmes that people might have on series record are not being produced, let alone broadcast: as an example, Match of the Day 2.
If a replacement programme is set to record, there is every chance that a conflict will be flagged. In this forum, I'm considering setting up recordings using the Webif, not with the remote control; in the latter case I seem to recall that the UI doesn't let you commit conflicting schedules.
What might then happen is discussed in this thread.
Based on this, recordings scheduled using AR should be fine, because the temporarily absent scheduled show will never be signalled and the replacement will be; when the temporarily absent scheduled show returns, the replacement won't be shown at the same time, if at all. As always, it depends on the broadcasters doing the right thing. Update: this did appear to occur as described.
Recordings scheduled using padding will get confused, if the original programme would have started before the replacement and the replacement programme is of a different length, and otherwise fragmentary recordings of what the old EPG data said was the end of the original programme might also be created.
Recordings scheduled using fixed times will fail unless the replacement programme starts before, or is within the period of, the original show, and in the latter case unwanted leader or trailer may be present.
Have I got this right?
