I'm amazed that anybody even tried to import a log file into a spreadsheet in the first place. Quite bizarre.

Might (just) make sense if the log has comma separated values. But that's stretching the definition of "just".

Based on what is readable the box is definitely struggling with this HDD. Whether this is owing to HW issues on the box itself as Black Hole has suggested or issues with the HDD itself is difficult to say.

Looks like the HDD has had it then. I will look into the WD suggested.
