That only works while the Humax is on or if you disable power saving in standby in the Humax menus. It increases the Humax's standby power use slightly (I'm sure someone will post the figures in a while or you should be able to find them by searching the forums) as it will then keep the tuner powered up to enable signal passthrough. It will also keep the clock on the front screen in standby although it will be quite dim.
From memory it's the difference between 0.7Watts with powersaving on and 1.5Watts with powersaving off. Measuring these very small amounts is tricky due to power factors and distortion of the A.C. waveform. Testing the 2000T would be conciderably easier due to it's D.C. input
