disable crop and set timer function automatically

Hi i sometimes miss a very small section at the start or end of recordings and would like to just have this to manually record say 5 minutes before and after the start end times, any help on where to set this up as i have been running it with crop for years, but now only record from bbc1/2&4 HD now?
Thanks

Are you using detectads? You can disable automatic processing in Webif>Settings>DetectAds (as you're only using BBC channels)?

Or is the problem that Accurate Recording isn't? You can either disable AR per-recording in Webif>Scheduled Events>Recording List using the more> button menu for the recording, or, with the multimode package, permanently assign padding or AR to each channel in Webif>Settings>Multimode.

Thanks I was using detect ads but over time I have gradually stopped recording the channels with adverts so don’t need it now as you say the channels I recorded don’t have adverts.
I find that the recordings that I have maybe one or two will have either the start or end missing so would like to disable that and just have all recordings start and finish day 3 or 5 minutes and I can then crop them myself on the oc

Are you actually using Accurate Recording or Padding? AR works fine on the channels you mention, so I suggest you use it if you're not.

I think your problem is not quite accurate cropping from detectads that will be fixed by just not doing that.

Hi so it appears that I have nothing in ar as shown do I just click in ar and add the channels I want and save ?
Thanks

If you just installed multimode, perhaps Webif or the box needs to be restarted: the Leave Alone column should list your channels so that you can move them into the Padding or AR column as desired. But the BBC channels will use AR if it's not disabled in the on-screen Menu>Preferences>Recording by setting a padding value: https://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Padding_versus_Accurate_Recording.

With multimode, IIRC it's best to have AR as the default and move specific channels or individual recordings to padding (rather than vice versa).

The OP hasn't (so far as I can see) indicated whether he's currently got auto-padding set or if it's zero (in which case no padding = AR). If all you want to do is use auto-padding instead of AR, there's no need for multimode.

Not touched this in many years since I set it up, so maybe I made a mistake at the start
