Error Message When Attempting to Update Packages

When I try to check for updated packages, I get the following error message :

!! ERROR - No network connectivity to package repository !!
Check your Internet connection and DNS service and then try again.

I'm not sure what this means, can anyone explain?
 
It is what it says - that your HDR-FOX is not connecting through to the Internet. The easiest way to confirm that it is, is to fire up the TV Portal.
 
That was indeed the case...

Remembered that I'd recently been playing around with static vs DHCP modes under 'network settings' and had obviously screwed something up. Reverted to DHCP and all is good again.

Sounds like you cocked up the gateway setting then. To populate the manual parameters with the right default numbers, set DHCP and click Apply, then switch to Manual and alter the IP address only.
 
Yes I assume that was what happened. As the web interface was working I assumed it was OK, it didn't occur to me check web connectivity.
